Job Description
The Role
At Featurespace, we build software that protects our clients and their customers from fraud and financial crime. Our success depends not only on the quality of our models and services, but on how quickly, reliably and safely we can deploy ARIC into real customer environments.
As Senior Engineering Manager for the Rapid Deployment team, you will lead a Warsaw‑based engineering organisation responsible for enabling fast, repeatable and low‑risk deployment of ARIC across a wide range of environments.
The Rapid Deployment team owns the tooling, automation, standards and processes that allow customers to deploy and upgrade ARIC with confidence, reducing time‑to‑value while maintaining security and operational integrity across:
Public cloud environments (AWS initially, with a clear multi‑cloud roadmap)
Customer‑managed datacentres
Hybrid and security‑constrained environments
This is a high‑impact, business‑critical role. The success of the Rapid Deployment team directly influences customer onboarding, upgrade velocity, product adoption, and Featurespace’s ability to scale ARIC globally.
You will work closely with senior engineering, product, SRE and security leaders across Europe, the UK and the US, while building a strong local team in Warsaw with clear ownership and accountability.
What You’ll Own
The strategic direction and delivery outcomes of the Rapid Deployment platform.
A Poland‑based engineering team, embedded as a core part of Featurespace’s global engineering organisation.
The interface between Core Engineering (who build ARIC) and Operations / Customers (who deploy and run it).
The quality, reliability and supportability of ARIC deployments across cloud and on‑prem environments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Architecture
Define and drive the long‑term strategy for rapid, safe and repeatable deployment of ARIC.
Set clear architectural direction around packaging, configuration, upgrades, rollback and compatibility.
Balance cloud‑native approaches with pragmatic solutions for on‑prem and hybrid customer environments.
Delivery & Execution
Ensure delivery of robust deployment tooling that works consistently across diverse environments.
Drive automation, standardisation and reliability in deployment and upgrade workflows.
Ensure operational readiness, including diagnostics, logging, upgrade safety and failure recovery.
Cross‑Team Collaboration
Partner closely with Engineering teams to ensure deployability is treated as a first‑class concern.
Work with Security and Compliance to ensure rapid deployment does not compromise regulatory or customer requirements.
Act as the primary escalation point for deployment‑related risks, trade‑offs and delivery issues.
Leadership & Team Building
Build, grow and mentor a high‑performing Warsaw‑based Rapid Deployment team.
Create a culture of ownership, technical excellence and pragmatic problem‑solving.
Ensure engineers understand the realities of the customer environments their software runs in.
Communication & Reporting
Clearly communicate priorities, risks and progress to senior stakeholders.
Provide transparent reporting on delivery status, dependencies and technical debt.
Represent the Rapid Deployment platform confidently at leadership and product forums.
Management Responsibilities
Set clear, outcome‑focused goals aligned with company and product strategy.
Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching.
Hire engineers with strong Linux and systems fundamentals, not just cloud experience.
Ensure new hires are onboarded effectively into a complex technical and customer landscape.
Manage workload sustainably while delivering against high‑priority objectives.
Foster an inclusive, collaborative and psychologically safe team environment.
Qualifications
Must Haves
Proven experience leading an engineering or platform team.
Strong Linux systems background and experience operating production software.
Hands‑on experience designing or delivering deployment, installer or platform tooling.
Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS required; multi‑cloud strongly preferred).
Practical experience with on‑prem or customer‑managed environments.
Ability to lead architecture discussions across engineering, operational and business dimensions.
Experience with at least one high‑level programming language (e.g. Python).
Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex systems clearly.
Nice to Haves
Experience with hybrid, air‑gapped or highly regulated environments.
Containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), where appropriate.
Infrastructure as Code and configuration management experience.
Networking fundamentals (DNS, routing, firewalls).
Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g. PCI‑DSS, SOC2, ISO27001).
Experience working with distributed international teams.
Experience deploying, operating or integrating third‑party datastores such as ELK / OpenSearch, MongoDB, PostgreSQL or ClickHouse, in cloud, on‑prem or hybrid environments.
What We Value
Pragmatic problem‑solving over theoretical perfection.
Comfort operating in ambiguous, high‑impact problem spaces.
Strong emotional intelligence and collaborative leadership.
Accountability for outcomes, not just delivery.
Leading by example with integrity and professionalism.
