Job Description

Join a Cross‑Functional Squad dedicated to building and maintain customized features and extensions on top of our core platform. You'll help deliver region‑specific and client‑specific solutions without impacting core services, enabling rapid global expansion.

What You'll Do:

  • Write clean, readable, and maintainable code under guidance from senior engineers
  • Contribute to services built with Go and other backend technologies
  • Take part in planning, design discussions, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Learn how features move from idea to production.
  • Implement unit tests and contribute to integration tests.
  • Help ensure correctness and reliability of business logic.
  • Participate in code reviews, both giving and receiving feedback
  • Learn best practices around coding standards, performance, and reliability
  • Assist in debugging issues using logs, metrics, and alerts
  • Learn incident response and root-cause analysis with guidance
  • Continuously improve your understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and software design
  • Adopt team best practices for Agile development and engineering excellence

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience

1-3 years of relevant software development experience ( Java / Golang ) 

Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)

Experience working with REST APIs and API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI)

Experience working in the financial industry, payments, or authorization systems is desirable

Experience in using AI-powered coding tools to enhance productivity.

Experience in optimizing code for performance, cost efficiency, and maintainability.

Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Basic working knowledge of AWS or another major cloud provider

Basic understanding of NoSQL or non-relational data stores

Understanding of core concepts such as: Microservice architecture

Familiarity with Git and pull-request, based workflows

Experience writing unit tests

Basic understanding of Agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles

Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CodeFresh, ArgoCD, or similar

Some experience supporting applications in production or staging environments

Awareness of observability concepts such as logging, monitoring, and alerting

Experience working with REST APIs and API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger/OpenAPI)

Familiarity with containers (Docker) and basic deployment concepts

Understanding of event messaging systems (Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ, etc.)

Curiosity and initiative to learn system design, scalability, and reliability concepts
