Role
We are looking for a Senior Courseware Developer to join our team in a remote or hybrid capacity (3 days/week in Bangalore), reporting to the Manager, Technical Courseware Development in Product Management.
In this role, you’ll design and develop end-to-end learning experiences that turn cutting-edge Zscaler cybersecurity capabilities into persona- and task-based training that drives on-the-job performance. You’ll create and evolve a blended curriculum across Instructor-Led Training (ILT), role and task-based hands-on labs, interactive eLearning, assessments, and ensuring learners can confidently apply skills in real scenarios.
What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
- Drive discovery with SMEs to capture real job workflows, define learner personas, and translate findings into performance-based course architectures, measurable objectives, and detailed design/storyboards
- Create and govern instructor-ready decks and facilitation materials that communicate a clear technical story, include teach/ask/do moments, and improve instructor consistency and delivery quality
- Design and build highly engaging, interactive eLearning at scale—scenario-driven, activity-rich, and modular—while applying strong UX, accessibility, and reusability standards across learning components
- Design lab journeys that mirror real-world tasks, validate labs/demos end-to-end in the product, troubleshoot complex issues, and partner with lab/platform stakeholders to ensure stability, fidelity, and repeatability
- Define the assessment approach for the program and develop objective-mapped items, including scenario/task-based questions and performance checks; validate quality (coverage, difficulty, clarity) and continuously improve using learner/instructor feedback
Who You Are (Success Profile)
- You thrive in ambiguity. You're comfortable building the path as you walk it. You thrive in a dynamic environment, seeing ambiguity not as a hindrance, but as the raw material to build something meaningful.
- You act like an owner. Your passion for the mission fuels your bias for action. You operate with integrity because you genuinely care about the outcome. You adapt to what’s needed, navigating seamlessly between high-level strategy and hands-on execution.
- You are a problem-solver. You seek out challenges because you are energized by finding solutions, knowing that solving the hard problems delivers the biggest impact.
- You are a high-trust collaborator. You are ambitious for the team, not just yourself. You embrace our challenge culture by giving and receiving ongoing feedback—knowing that candor delivered with clarity and respect is the truest form of teamwork and the fastest way to earn trust.
- You are a learner. You have a true growth mindset and never stop developing yourself, actively seeking feedback to become a better partner and a stronger teammate. You love what you do and you do it with purpose.
What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- 7–10 years creating technical learning content across eLearning and instructor-led modalities, with demonstrated ownership of end-to-end programs
- Expert writing, visual communication, and presentation slide deck and Google doc architecture skills; ability to craft crisp technical narratives and instructor-ready materials
- Strong ability to ramp up on complex products quickly and convert SME input into persona- and task-based learning with measurable outcomes
- Advanced proficiency building interactive eLearning using Articulate (Storyline/Rise) and/or Adobe tools (e.g., Captivate), including scenario-based interactions and assessments
- Solid knowledge of or strong demonstrated interest in cybersecurity and networking, with comfort discussing technical workflows and terminology
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Prior experience designing enablement for Zscaler or similar cloud security/SASE/zero trust solutions, translating real customer/field use cases into role-based learning paths
- Demonstrated experience using productivity enhancement tools such as whiteboard, doodle, etc., and AI tools to accelerate analysis, storyboarding, draft content, assessment item generation, localization support, and QA—while applying strong judgment around accuracy, bias, confidentiality, and IP
- Certification in Cyber Security such as Zscaler certifications / Cisco / Juniper network certifications will be added advantage
