About the opportunity:
 
The DEXA Technician performs bone density (DXA) scans to assess bone health and support the diagnosis and monitoring of conditions such as osteoporosis. This role ensures high-quality imaging, accurate data collection, and a positive patient experience while maintaining compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
 
What you will do:

•    Perform dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA/DXA) scans in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
•    Accurately position patients and operate imaging equipment to obtain high-quality, diagnostic images
•    Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the exam, answering questions, and ensuring comfort and safety
•    Review and verify patient information, physician orders, and exam requirements prior to imaging
•    Analyze scan results for quality and completeness; ensure proper documentation and submission for physician interpretation
•    Maintain accurate records in the electronic health record (EHR) and imaging systems
•    Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control protocols at all times
•    Perform routine quality control checks and equipment calibration per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines
•    Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure timely and efficient patient care
•    Provide education to patients on bone health, as appropriate within scope

What you will need:
 
Experience:
  • 1 year experience preforming DEXA scans preferred
Education:
  • N/A
License(s) and Certification(s):

•    Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
•    Certifications (1 of the following required):
Registered as a Bone Densitometry Equipment Operator (BDEO) in the state of Colorado
International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) – Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist (CBDT®)
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - certified radiology, nuclear medicine, or radiation therapists

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
