Senior Software Engineer, Observability - Python, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform

In this role, you’ll directly support Ivanti’s mission to enable Autonomous Endpoint Management and deliver better outcomes for our customers. Your work will help IT and Security teams shift from manual, reactive tasks to smarter, more proactive operations. What You’ll Do
- Support the development, maintenance, and improvement of monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions across Ivanti’s cloud-driven platform.
- Deploy and manage observability platforms including Azure Application Insights, New Relic, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Implement distributed tracing and telemetry using OpenTelemetry for enhanced system insights and debugging.
- Optimize structured logging and performance monitoring to deliver more robust and efficient systems.
- Build and refine alerting mechanisms to improve incident response, reduce false positives, and support faster resolutions.
- Contribute to scalable monitoring and observability solutions in AWS and Azure environments.
- Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and cross-functional teams to integrate observability best practices within CI/CD pipelines.
- Create and share runbooks, dashboards, and best practice guides to increase awareness and adoption of observability initiatives.
What you will bring
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps and python development
- Scripting skills for automation (Python programming skills, Go, Bash, or PowerShell).
- Experience with Azure Monitoring, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, and cloud-native monitoring in AWS and Azure.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry, AppInsights , New Relic APM, and distributed tracing.
- Proficiency in Kubernetes/container monitoring and infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
- Strong understanding of SLIs, SLOs, MTTA, MTTR and incident management frameworks.
- Knowledge of production systems and troubleshooting techniques
- Excellent communicator and collaborator who enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting others.
- Take ownership of the assignments and works towards completion.
Nice to have:
- Advanced Python programming skills.
- Good System design skills.
- Experience using AI tools.
- Experience with AIOps, predictive analytics, log aggregation pipelines, event-driven architectures..
- Certifications in Azure or AWS
- FedRAMP observability experience.
