WHAT YOU'LL DO
Braze is looking for a pioneer to fill a highly strategic, hybrid role within our Japan team. As the AI Decisioning Lead, you will own the end-to-end AI lifecycle for our customers in Japan. This is a unique, multi-disciplinary role combining sales (supporting the sales team as a technical SME) and post-sales (facilitating the forward-deployed delivery of AI Decisioning to contracted customers).
You will be the ultimate subject matter expert on AI Decisioning capabilities, helping brands predict customer behavior, automate orchestration, and scale hyper-personalized engagement.
This role is scoped as an Individual Contributor role to start, but could grow into a management role as the Braze’s AI Decisioning business grows in Japan and APAC.
Sales responsibilities
- Visionary Pitching: Partner with the Sales Team to present and demo AI Decisioning capabilities and roadmap to prospective C-level executives (CMOs, CDOs, CTOs).
- Value Discovery: Conduct discovery workshops to identify top AI Decisioning use cases.
- AI Academy: Lead hands-on educational sessions with prospects and customers that give a strong understanding of current trends and applications of artificial intelligence in marketing.
Customer Readiness Assessment: Assist sales team in identifying and mitigating program risks (e.g., business case, tech stack) before deals are signed
Post-sales (forward-deployed) responsibilities
- Adoption & Optimization: Act as a dedicated AI Success Manager for high-value clients, ensuring they maximize and fully understand the value of their investment into AI Decisioning.
- Experimentation Design: Facilitate the technical setup of AI Decisioning fully aligns to business goals and internal best practices.
- Business Reviews: Analyze client campaign performance data to deliver strategic recommendations and insights, showcasing how AI Decisioning is driving incremental value.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Act as the technical bridge between Japan clients and global product/engineering teams for complex AI/ML anomalies.
- Data Architecture & Integration: Work closely with client data teams to ensure clean data pipelines flow from Data Warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery) into Braze for AI modeling.
WHO YOU ARE
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a highly technical, enterprise client-facing role (e.g., Solutions Architect, Forward-Deployed Engineer, Technical Account Manager, or Data Consultant).
- Data Science Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python/R, and latest AI tools for data analysis and machine learning.
- Statistical Knowledge: Strong understanding of machine learning concepts and how they apply to consumer marketing.
- MarTech Ecosystem: Deep understanding of the modern data stack and marketing ecosystem (CDPs, Data Warehouses like Snowflake/BigQuery, and CRM/Marketing Automation tools).
- Language Skills: Native/Fluent Japanese (for local client management) and Business-level English (to collaborate with global product teams and technical documentation).
- Consultative Mindset: Proven ability to translate complex data science and AI jargon into clear, value-driven business language for non-technical stakeholders.
- Agility: A "builder" mentality—comfortable navigating ambiguity and defining a brand-new role in a fast-paced environment.
