Transport Supervisor

This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our yard and ensuring the efficient movement of materials and products in and out of the facility. Responsible for maintaining the smooth flow of operations in our fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Leading a team of colleagues on the shift to ensure that the shift KPIs are met in full and on time.
• Dealing with day to day queries from colleagues – liaising with HR and Training Teams as required.
• Supervise and coordinate all yard activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping of materials and finished products.
• Plan and allocate resources efficiently to ensure timely loading and unloading of trucks and trailers.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels in the yard, ensuring accuracy and proper rotation of stock.
• Conduct regular inspections of the yard to identify any maintenance or repair needs and coordinate with the maintenance team for prompt resolution.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to yard operations, such as inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, and yard capacity utilisation.
• Coordinate with transportation providers to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources and timely order fulfilment.

Who You Are:

• Supervisory role in a warehouse or distribution centre
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and yard management systems (YMS)
• Strong knowledge of yard management principles, inventory control, and transportation logistics.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels and external stakeholders
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and inventory management.

• Sunday to Wednesday
• Wednesday to Saturday
