Maplewood Veterinary Center is seeking a Full-Time Practice Manager. We are looking for a people-first leader who is energized by developing teams, building culture, and helping our hospital grow to reach its full potential. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of leadership and operational excellence, and who takes pride in creating an environment where veterinarians and staff can do their best work to provide animals with the care they deserve.

 Compensation & Schedule:

  • Salary: $55,000-75,000 per year determined by the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications
  • Bonus: Eligible to earn up to 15% in a performance-based annual bonus
  • Schedule: 9/80 schedule. Enjoy every other Friday off, alternating between four 10-hour days and five 8-hour days each week.
  • Potential Partnership Opportunity: High-performing leaders may have the opportunity to participate in equity ownership of the hospital. To be evaluated on annual basis.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own hospital growth: set the vision, make the decisions, and deliver the best business outcomes for the practice.
  • Collaborate closely with Doctor co-owner on hospital’s growth potential, set goals, remove obstacles, and build a hospital where great medicine and great business go hand in hand.
  • Unlock the potential of your team by recruiting top talent, investing in their development, and creating a culture where people do their best work.
  • Champion the client experience from first call to follow-up, building loyalty and growing the practice's reputation in the community.
  • Lead day-to-day operations: staffing, scheduling, inventory, and facilities, so the hospital runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Drive financial performance: manage P&L, analyze results, and implement strategies that deliver sustainable profitability without compromising the highest quality of care.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and hospital policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field is preferred, but candidates with strong relevant skills and experience will also be considered.
  • Previous experience in a managerial role, preferably in a veterinary or healthcare setting, and knowledge of veterinary procedures, terminology, and industry standards is preferred.
  • Experience with practice management systems is preferred but not required.

  • Dedicated Training: Through our partnership with Veterinary Practice Partners (VPP), you’ll have access to dedicated leadership development opportunities to further strengthen your leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Collaborative Environment: You’ll have access to VPP’s network of other practice managers and VPP support team members to help support you through different challenges and opportunities.
  • Back-Office Support: Centralized support functions (e.g., Payroll, IT, Finance, Recruiting, etc.) to help reduce the administrative burden

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. individually and over 50 lbs. with a team lift. Must be able to squat, bend, sit, and stand when needed and possibly for long periods of time.
