[Job-30010] DATA Tech Lead, Brazil

About the Role

CI&T is looking for an experienced Data Tech Lead to lead and support our Data Engineering teams in delivering scalable, high-quality, and business-driven data solutions.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence across multiple data initiatives, establishing engineering best practices, mentoring team members, and ensuring the delivery of robust and reliable data platforms. You will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define technical strategies and guarantee high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership:

  • Lead and support multiple Data Engineering teams, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance environment.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers, helping them grow their skills and capabilities.
  • Promote engineering best practices, code quality, and continuous improvement across teams.

Data Engineering Excellence:

  • Design, review, and oversee scalable data solutions using Databricks and modern cloud technologies.
  • Define and enforce coding standards, architecture principles, and documentation guidelines.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide technical feedback to ensure maintainability, performance, and reliability.
  • Drive initiatives focused on process optimization, automation, and engineering excellence.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in Data Engineering and Analytics.

Quality & Governance:

  • Review and validate technical deliverables to ensure alignment with engineering standards and client expectations.
  • Establish and improve quality assurance processes focused on data integrity, reliability, and governance.
  • Support the implementation of scalable and sustainable data architecture practices.

Client & Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with clients to understand business and technical requirements.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor, ensuring solutions align with client goals and standards.
  • Facilitate communication between technical teams, stakeholders, and business partners to ensure successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced English communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in Data Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Databricks.
  • Solid experience with Apache Spark and cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and driving technical decisions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced and dynamic environments.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in consulting environments and with international clients.
  • Experience defining data governance and quality frameworks.
  • Knowledge of modern data architecture patterns, including Lakehouse architectures.
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
  • Certifications related to Databricks, Cloud Platforms, or Data Engineering.
