This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a GIS Solutions Architect based in the United States.

This is a senior technical architecture role focused on designing, modernizing, and scaling enterprise geospatial systems that support mission-critical operations in a secure federal environment. You will lead the technical vision for GIS platforms, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and aligned with cloud, cybersecurity, and enterprise data strategies. The role requires deep expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise and geospatial architecture, combined with strong systems thinking and the ability to operate across complex stakeholder groups. You will drive modernization efforts, including cloud migration and integration with enterprise data platforms, while establishing governance and best practices for geospatial systems. This is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with engineers, data teams, and operational stakeholders to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing geospatial capabilities. You will also serve as a key technical advisor, shaping long-term strategy while ensuring current systems meet evolving mission needs. The environment is mission-driven, technically complex, and focused on delivering scalable geospatial solutions for critical use cases.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise GIS solutions supporting mission-critical federal operations.
  • Design and maintain scalable geospatial architectures across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Support deployment, configuration, and optimization of ArcGIS Enterprise and GeoEvent Server platforms.
  • Lead migration efforts of geospatial applications, services, and datasets into cloud-based infrastructures.
  • Integrate GIS systems with enterprise data platforms, analytics environments, and business systems.
  • Establish and enforce GIS governance frameworks, standards, and best practices across the enterprise.
  • Ensure geospatial solutions meet cybersecurity, Zero Trust, and compliance requirements.
  • Evaluate emerging geospatial technologies and recommend adoption strategies aligned with enterprise goals.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural guidance to GIS teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver geospatial capabilities aligned with operational and mission needs.
  • Support testing, deployment, operations, and maintenance of enterprise GIS systems.
  • Drive user enablement through documentation, training, and knowledge transfer initiatives.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
    • 6+ years of experience in enterprise GIS, geospatial architecture, or geospatial solution design.
    • Strong experience designing and implementing ArcGIS Enterprise environments.
    • Proven ability to architect geospatial solutions in cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.
    • Experience with geospatial governance, data management, and enterprise system integration.
    • Strong understanding of GIS data models, spatial databases, and enterprise geospatial workflows.
    • Familiarity with cybersecurity, access control, and compliance requirements in enterprise systems.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in complex environments.
    • Experience with ArcGIS GeoEvent Server, Kubernetes environments, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
    • Familiarity with enterprise data lakes, analytics platforms, or federal geospatial programs is highly desirable.
    • U.S. citizenship required due to federal security clearance requirements.
