This role sits at the center of mission-critical enterprise application support, focusing on complex SAP IS-U Billing environments that power large-scale utility and billing operations. The engineer will act as a senior technical problem solver, working remotely with global clients to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve high-impact issues across highly customized SAP landscapes. The position combines deep functional SAP expertise with hands-on technical debugging, requiring the ability to work across multiple modules, systems, and integrations. In addition to issue resolution, the role contributes to system stability, performance optimization, and long-term improvement of client environments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, always-on support organization where reliability and precision are essential. This is a highly client-facing role that demands strong communication skills, technical leadership, and a proactive approach to service excellence.
Accountabilities:
- Provide advanced functional and technical support for complex SAP IS-U Billing environments, diagnosing and resolving critical production issues across integrated systems and modules.
- Perform deep troubleshooting across SAP landscapes, including root cause analysis, performance tuning, and development of targeted fixes for recurring or systemic issues.
- Support client-specific customizations, ensuring alignment with best practices while maintaining system stability and business continuity.
- Develop scripts, tools, and corrective solutions to identify and resolve data inconsistencies and application defects.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor for assigned client accounts, guiding implementation decisions and supporting business process optimization.
- Collaborate in a 24/7 global support environment, contributing to incident response, knowledge sharing, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of SAP experience with strong focus on IS-U and Billing modules, including production support and implementation exposure.
- Deep expertise in SAP environments such as ECC and R/3, including configuration, integration, and system architecture understanding.
- Strong hands-on experience troubleshooting complex SAP issues across multiple modules, with advanced SQL and data analysis capabilities.
- Proven ability to analyze business processes and translate technical issues into functional resolutions in high-pressure environments.
- Experience working with client-facing support models, demonstrating strong communication, stakeholder management, and service orientation.
- Proficiency in SAP customization and extension approaches, with the ability to build or enhance solutions using SAP toolsets.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in distributed, remote-first teams.
