We are seeking a Systems & Controls Engineer to bridge day-to-day operational reliability with forward-looking automation initiatives, ensuring systems are designed, implemented, and maintained to support safe, scalable, and cost-effective operations. This role will work closely with the Senior Manager, Facilities & Engineering and Program Manager, Network Expansion to evaluate, deploy, and optimize systems including conveyance, controls, and emerging automation technologies (e.g., vision AI, sortation, drones). The role is responsible for ensuring technical quality, system performance, and sound engineering decisions across both existing operations and new initiatives.
How you will achieve success:
Systems & Controls Support: Serve as the technical expert for facility and MHE systems across FCs.
Automation & Technology Initiatives: Support evaluation and deployment of automation solutions across the network.
Project Engineering & Execution Support: Provide technical support for facility projects and system implementations.
Vendor & Contractor Management: Ensure high-quality technical delivery from external partners.
System Performance & Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements in system reliability and performance.
What experiences will help you in this role:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related) or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience supporting MHE, conveyance, facilities systems, or automation in warehouse, manufacturing, or similar environments.
Working knowledge of: Conveyance systems and material handling equipment; sensors, photo-eyes, relays, and basic controls concepts; and mechanical and electrical system interactions.
Experience troubleshooting system-level issues in operational environments.
Experience working with vendors, contractors, or system integrator.
Experience supporting automation systems (sortation, robotics, vision systems, etc.) and familiarity with controls architecture or PLC-adjacent systems is preferred.
