About the Role

Chevron is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer – Infrastructure as Code with a strong solution architecture and leadership mindset. This role is responsible for defining, designing, and governing scalable cloud platforms on Azure, driving Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption, and leading strategic engineering initiatives. The role requires 10–15 years of experience and includes mentoring engineers while influencing architecture decisions across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture design and solution definition for Azure cloud platforms aligned with business needs

  • Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC) strategy and standards using Ansible and Terraform

  • Define and implement secure, scalable, and compliant cloud architectures

  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Establish and optimize CI/CD frameworks using Azure DevOps or GitHub

  • Provide technical leadership, governance, and design reviews across initiatives

  • Own platform reliability, performance, and operational excellence

  • Guide and mentor engineers, fostering innovation and engineering best practices

  • Continuously evaluate and introduce new cloud technologies and architecture patterns

Core Skills & Experience

  • 10–15 years of experience in cloud engineering, with strong architecture exposure

  • Deep expertise in Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, and cloud-native architectures

  • Strong hands-on experience with IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform)

  • Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub for CI/CD and platform engineering

  • Proficiency in scripting (Python / PowerShell / Bash)

  • Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance

  • Proven ability in solution design, architecture decision-making, and system optimization

  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills

Good to Have

  • Certifications: AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Terraform

  • Experience with observability, monitoring, and large-scale platform operations

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
