Job Description

The mission of our Big Data Platform is strategically aligned and critical to enabling the new HP data strategy to unlock the power of data across the company.

We are leading the evolution of the common big data platform for Print and 3D which is an essential component of the Print Digital Ecosystem. Our organization partners across HP to build and operate a number of big data pipelines and data product solutions to drive business insights.

In this role, you will be working with Data Architects, Product/Program Managers, and other Experts to strategically accelerate the Big Data Platform for delivering enterprise data across the HP ecosystem.

Job Summary
This role is responsible for deployment through all software development lifecycle stages across distributed systems with a goal of using industry standards and continuous improvements in release processes to ensure scalability and consistency. The role ensures that software applications meet high-quality standards, and implements testing and quality control processes to prevent defects and ensure a positive user experience. The role monitors and scales critical infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and troubleshoots issues.
 

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis and proof of concept of new technologies and solutions, both open-source and commercial, and stay current with industry trend

  • Implement and integrate Infrastructure as Code platform building blocks

  • Test system integrity, implement designs, application developments and other processes related to infrastructure, making improvements as needed

  • Building and maintaining tools, solutions and services associated with deployment and the operations platform, ensuring that all meet our customer service standards and reduce errors

  • Automate operational processes as needed, with accuracy and in compliance with our security requirements

  • Experience in requirements definition and transforming concepts into workable process models and solutions

  • Troubleshoot issues during testing and production, catching and solving before launch

  • Managing and deploy product updates/fixes as required while implementing integrations when they arise

Must Have Skills

  • Minimum 2 - 5 years DevOps experience supporting enterprise-grade applications

  • Experience with K8s

  • Experience with CI/CD

  • Experience with Python

  • Familiar with Terragrunt

  • Experience with Cloud providers (AWS & Azure)

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Databricks and other Big data tools

  • Experience with Airflow, Helm Charts

  • Experience with GitOps, Github Enterprise Cloud

  • Ability to work independently under a fast-paced environment and deliver results under pressure

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of software engineering fundamentals (i.e. developing, testing, debugging, etc..) running on close based platforms

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodology and software development principles and strategies

  • Implement services (i.e. REST APIs, micro services, authentication, authorization) and integrate with other systems in Python/Java/JavaScript

Education

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or equivalent

The pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
