Primary Responsibilities:
The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a dynamic Sr Appian System Administrator to support cloud modernization initiatives for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) at Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Cyber, and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) in the Alexandria, VA area. This role is part of a high-impact program focused on delivering secure, scalable cloud solutions that enable operational agility and resilience across the USCG enterprise.
As the Appian System Administrator, you will have strong expertise in Appian platform administration. This role also includes responsibility to support the administration, maintenance, optimization, and governance of enterprise low-code/no-code platforms. The ideal candidate will also have experience supporting or integrating other low-code/no-code solutions such as ServiceNow, Microsoft Power Platform, Pega, Salesforce, OutSystems, Mendix, or similar platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the Appian platform across development, test, staging, and production environments.
- Manage Appian upgrades, patches, deployments, backups, and disaster recovery processes.
- Configure and maintain:
- User access and security roles
- Authentication (SSO, LDAP, SAML, OAuth)
- Infrastructure and environment settings
- Monitoring and alerting
- Troubleshoot platform issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration failures.
- Support CI/CD processes and deployment automation for Appian applications.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
- Establish and enforce governance standards, operational procedures, and best practices.
- Monitor system health, capacity planning, and platform performance metrics.
- Support integrations with enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and cloud services.
- Participate in platform modernization and low-code/no-code strategy initiatives.
- Provide administration and operational support for additional low-code/no-code platforms where applicable.
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires BS and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience, additional years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- 3+ years of experience administering and supporting Appian platforms in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Appian platform architecture and components
- Environment administration and platform health monitoring
- Application migration and deployment processes across development, test, and production environments
- Security administration, user provisioning, and role-based access controls
- Appian platform upgrades, patching, maintenance, and high-availability configurations
- Experience supporting at least one additional low-code/no-code platform, such as:
- Microsoft Power Platform
- ServiceNow
- Pega
- Salesforce Platform
- UiPath
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving platform, application, and integration issues within production environments.
- Familiarity with:
- Windows and/or Linux server administration
- Cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- SQL databases and database connectivity
- REST and SOAP APIs
- DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab)
- Experience supporting platform security, compliance, patch management, and operational best practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively document processes, procedures, and technical solutions.
- Ability to work collaboratively across infrastructure, development, cybersecurity, and business stakeholder teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Appian Certified System Administrator certification.
- Experience with containerized or cloud-native deployments.
- Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
