Azure Cloud Platform Engineer (m/f)
Job Description & Summary
Join PwC’s AI and Data Services team and help build, run, and continuously improve the cloud foundations that power modern data and AI workloads. We’re growing quickly and opening a Cloud Platform Engineer role focused on Azure infrastructure, Kubernetes, and automation.
If you enjoy modern cloud engineering, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and owning production environments end-to-end, this role is for you.
Role overview
As our Cloud Platform Engineer, you will operate, monitor, and maintain multiple Azure subscriptions and global applications. This is a true engineering + operations role: you’ll design and deliver new infrastructure, implement changes in production, and support incident tickets as part of the team. You’ll work closely with data professionals, software engineers, and business stakeholders to build and support efficient, scalable, and secure cloud platforms.
What you’ll work on
Designing, building, and maintaining Azure infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS) using Terraform modules for new projects and production updates
Operating and supporting Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments
Troubleshooting IaaS and PaaS issues raised via incident tickets and meeting ticket closure SLAs
Implementing secure-by-design networking patterns (VNets, NSGs, Load Balancers, App Gateway, Private Link, DNS)
Creating and maintaining environment documentation: diagrams, playbooks, runbooks, and best-practice guides
Collaborating with internal partners and providing guidance on application and infrastructure design
Contributing to CI/CD and automation work (e.g., Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions) for reliable, repeatable releases
Key responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain Azure-based infrastructure with Terraform (IaaS and PaaS)
Operate and support AKS clusters used by data and application teams
Investigate and resolve incidents on Azure infrastructure and services, ensuring SLAs are met
Maintain high-quality documentation for environments and operational procedures
Drive operational excellence through automation, standardisation, and best practices
Communicate clearly with stakeholders, translating technical topics into business-friendly language
Required skills & experience:
3+ years of experience with Azure core services, including:
Azure Resource Manager
Virtual Machines / Scale Sets
Storage (Blob/Files)
Networking (VNets, NSGs, Load Balancer, Application Gateway, DNS, Private Link)
3+ years of experience with Windows or Linux administration, with strong problem-solving ability
3+ years of experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
2+ years of experience with Terraform
Ability to work independently and proactively initiate tasks without close supervision
Professional English language communication
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Nice to have:
Experience with BICEP and/or ARM templates
Experience configuring CI/CD using Azure DevOps Pipelines and/or GitHub Actions (YAML)
Familiarity with configuration management tooling (preferably Ansible)
Familiarity with Kafka, MongoDB, and/or Elasticsearch
Scripting skills (Bash, Shell, or PowerShell)
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Salary: starting from 3000 EUR/month, subject to seniority and proven experience
