Staff Software Engineer, Embedded Systems, Cloud Platforms

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. In this role, you will focus on x86/Advanced RISC Machines (ARM) server platform projects. You will drive planning, execution, and deployment. You'll be involved in server development encompassing system firmware/software, diagnostics, and system integration.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• Experience in embedded software design, system board bring-up or diagnostics or server design.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience with BIOS, Linux Kernel, firmware quality tests or modularized servers of reliability.
• Experience in developing hyperscale, server platform design, firmware development or system architecture.
• Solid problem-solving skills and communication skills.
