Northrop Grumman is currently seeking an FPGA Design Engineer for our Linthicum, Maryland location. This role will involve contributing to the development of digital subsystems and products. The individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing digital solutions with guidance from technical leadership. Northrop Grumman seeks individuals who are self-motivated, willing to learn, and able to work with teams of engineers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop digital logic designs for space applications such as satellite command and control and sensor data processing
- Design, implementation, and modification of digital logic designs using AMD and Microchip FPGA IDEs
- Simulation and verification of FPGA designs, compliance requirements, and supporting validation at the system level
- Work with members of multi‐functional teams to develop innovative solutions
- Clear and effective communication to cross-functional team members
- Documentation of design and analysis reports as well as test reports
Basic Qualifications of FPGA Design Engineer: Level 2
- Bachelor’s in Science STEM degree with 2 years of related experience or a Master’s Degree with 0 years of related experience
- Working knowledge of digital design, FPGAs, and HDL (VHDL and Verilog) code
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret or Top Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Working knowledge of static timing analysis
- Working knowledge of clock domain crossing
- Working knowledge of digital signal processing
- Working knowledge of the network stack
- Working knowledge of the AXI4 protocol
- Working knowledge of LabView
- Experience with MATLAB and Simulink modeling and programming
- Experience translating customer requirements and/or functional block diagrams into realized FPGA/Digital Logic Designs
- Experience defining development test plans and/or methods
- Able to work effectively within a development team to understand system level inter-dependencies and design constraints
Primary Level Salary Range: $96,300.00 - $144,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
