Director, Engineering – Finance
The Director, Engineering – Leader within Corporate Services Technology, supporting Accounting, is a senior engineering leader accountable for the technical direction, delivery, and operational excellence of Accounting technology platforms. This role directly manages software engineers and works closely with engineering teams to design, build, integrate, and operate secure, scalable solutions. The role partners with Accounting leadership, architects, and vendors, and is grounded in software engineering excellence, modern architecture, and reliable execution supporting Accounting capabilities, including financial close, general ledger, intercompany, investment accounting, digital assets accounting, regulatory and statutory reporting, and global compliance requirements across complex multi-entity environments.
The Expertise You Have
- Deep software engineering leadership experience delivering enterprise platforms in regulated environments.
- Experience directly managing engineers responsible for full lifecycle delivery, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Strong engineering background across full-stack development, including modern front-end frameworks (e.g., Angular), back-end services (Java, APIs, microservices), and relational databases such as Oracle.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud-native architectures, including application deployment and operations on AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments.
- Experience managing vendor and platform partnerships, aligning roadmaps, integrations using APIs, event-driven, and secure integration patterns, and operational expectations aligned to Accounting and regulatory reporting priorities.
- Strong understanding of secure engineering practices, data governance, records retention, and compliance controls in regulated financial environments.
- Experience building or operating systems supporting high-risk domains such as general ledger, close and consolidation, investment accounting, digital assets, tax, intercompany, regulatory reporting, or financial data management platforms.
- Proven partnership experience with Accounting, Risk and Corporate Services stakeholders, framing complex technical topics as decisions, risks, and options, while maintaining strong engineering standards.
- Preferred understanding of Accounting processes, including Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, digital assets, and financial close processes across global, multi-entity organizations.
- Preferred experience with enterprise financial systems and a strong appreciation for how accounting processes translate into scalable system design, data models, and integrations.
- Preferred experience supporting finance transformation initiatives including ERP modernization and AI enablement.
- Preferred strong understanding of financial controls, audit requirements (e.g., SOX), regulatory compliance, and the importance of traceability, reconciliation, and data integrity in financial systems.

- Clear and confident communication skills to explain complex technical topics to Accounting partners and senior leaders.
