Senior Security Engineering Manager, Enterprise Security AI
There's no such thing as a "safe system" - only safer systems. Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. As a Security Engineer, you help protect network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information. Security Engineers work directly with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. You also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
You are a recognized expert in at least two security domains and use your leadership skills to manage a team that sets the direction and goals for solving Google-wide problems. You identify fundamental security problems at Google and drives major security improvements in Google infrastructure.
Enterprise Security AI’s mission is to protect Alphabet’s enterprise systems, corporate infrastructure, and sensitive data from the evolving risks associated with the internal adoption of all forms of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The team ensures that, as Alphabet accelerates its productivity through both first-party and third-party AI tools, the internal security posture remains compliant, and uncompromised. The team is expanding the presence of Singapore to further support this mission.
In this role, you will be establishing a security team that keeps pace with Alphabet’s adoption of agentic AI workflows through its own use of AI and by developing novel approaches.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in security engineering, within domains such as threat modeling, security assessments, authentication and access controls, and data protection controls.
- 5 years of experience in a people management role, leading and coaching security engineering teams.
- 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing programs or security projects.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with building engineering teams, including hiring and establishing team culture.
- Experience with managing engineering teams that build, deploy and use automation for security workflows, including AI-motivated and traditional automation tools.
- Ability to partner with global stakeholders to align team goals with organizational goals.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
