Hover helps people design, improve, and protect the properties they love. With proprietary AI built on over a decade of real property data, Hover answers age-old questions like “What will it look like?” and “What will it cost?” Homeowners, contractors, and insurance professionals rely on Hover to get fully measured, accurate, and interactive 3D models of any property — all from a smartphone scan in minutes.
At Hover, we’re driven by curiosity, purpose, and a shared commitment to serving our customers, communities, and each other. We believe the best ideas come from diverse perspectives and are proud to cultivate an inclusive, high-performance culture that inspires growth, accountability, and excellence. Backed by leading investors like Google Ventures and Menlo Ventures, and trusted by industry leaders including Travelers, State Farm, and Nationwide — we’re redefining how people understand and interact with their spaces.
As the Engineering Manager for our 3D Measurements team, you'll lead one of Hover's most visible and impactful engineering teams. The 3D Measurements team is responsible for calculating and publishing the measurement data our customers rely on every day. From roof area and wall dimensions to ridge, rake, and eave measurements. The team also owns the systems that generate customer-facing artifacts and power interactive 3D visualizations of properties across Hover's platform.
This role sits at the intersection of computational geometry, graphics engineering, backend systems, and people leadership. You'll lead a highly technical team while remaining close to the technology itself, partnering with engineers to solve challenging geometry problems, improve measurement accuracy, modernize our rendering stack, and explore next-generation technologies like WebGPU.
If you're excited by the idea of leading a small, high-trust team while staying technically engaged with complex 3D challenges, this is a unique opportunity to have outsized impact across Hover's products and future technology direction.
Leading and growing a highly technical team responsible for the measurement systems and 3D experiences that power Hover's products. You'll set the technical direction for measurement accuracy, rendering technologies, and platform modernization while partnering closely with Product, Modeling, and CV/ML teams to deliver meaningful customer impact.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll remain close to the technology, partnering with engineers on architecture decisions, debugging complex systems, and solving challenging computational geometry and graphics problems (you are expected to code with the team for 1-2 days a week). You'll help drive technical excellence across the team while evaluating emerging technologies that can improve performance, scalability, and customer outcomes.
You'll also play a key role in hiring and developing exceptional engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
