Position Summary

The ideal candidate will be ACCA qualified and bring 5 years’ accounting experience, including audit exposure within a UK and/or international environment. The successful individual will be a proactive self-starter with a strong foundation in financial accounting and a keen interest in driving process improvements. They will be comfortable collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

The Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day general ledger accounting activities, including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and support for internal and external financial audits.

Responsibilities

•    Prepares bank reconciliations, gift card liability reconciliations, loyalty, and other related accounting entries. 
•    Reconcile monthly eCommerce sales.
•    Assist in assuring effectiveness of control environment for eCommerce activities. Includes compliance with  UK&U.S. GAAP, SOX, and Delegation of Authority requirements.
•    Ensure compliance with company policies (e.g. Financial, Procurement, etc.) Identify and implement appropriate controls for new platforms and processes in support if eCommerce growth and initiatives.
•    Support system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements in eCommerce.
•    Participate as a key team member to ensure compliance with controllership standards and successful operational implementations.
•    Post journal entries, monthly accruals and reconcile general ledger accounts as needed.
•    Supporting team on month-end close procedures.
•    Provides outside auditors with assistance, gathers necessary account information and documents to for quarterly audits.
•    Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

•    ACCA, or relevant required.
•    5+ years in experience in accounting
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•    Strong analytical problem-solving aptitude, ability to organize work with large amounts of information efficiently, with strong attention to detail.
•    Enjoys working in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
•    Knowledge of  UK generally accepted accounting principles. 
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software. (i.e. advanced excel skills and SAP
