BBST - BrazilWe are currently seeking an experienced Associate Flight Controls Engineer to join our dynamic and experienced Flight Controls team, in Brazil.
We are seeking accomplished, self-motivated and experienced engineers to design, analyze, test and certify flight control laws systems for large commercial aircraft, as well as to support the production and fleet operations. The flight control laws and auto-flight teams are engaged in the challenging and exciting work of bringing new derivative airplanes into service as well as getting prepared to advanced flight control technology for current and next-generation airliners to improve capability, efficiency, and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
Resolve airplane level requirements into system level requirements and resolve system level requirements into functional requirements with time and cost-efficient validation methods
Execute system- and component-level validation activities including:
Linear analyses for performance and robustness (rigid-body modes and flexible modes).
Non-linear testing across multiple integration levels (software-in-the-loop, hardware-in-the-loop, iron bird, and pilot-in-the-loop simulators) covering nominal operations, failure modes, and environmental disturbances (e.g., turbulence, gusts).
Test planning, real-time monitoring, post-test analysis, report writing, and test failure mitigation.
Verify flight control requirements through simulation and analytical methods.
Analysis and resolution of rejections and ground/flight test squawks; and ground/flight test data review for design validation and certification compliance
Problem reports investigation and timely resolution/dispositioning.
Participate in certification activities, including creation of certification artifacts: system safety analyses, FMEA, fault trees; demonstrate regulatory traceability and resolve compliance issues.
Participate in system, component and detail certification efforts, including creation of required certification artifacts, such as, system safety analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, and fault tree analysis; confirming and demonstrating traceability to regulatory requirements; and resolution of regulation conflicts.
Support production efforts including timely resolution of prototype and first build problems at Boeing and supplier manufacturing facilities; ensuring readiness for production start-up milestones, such as, power-on, system gauntlet, system functional test, ground test and first flight.
Cross-functional interfacing within and outside of Boeing including with: manufacturing, avionics, crew-ops, airplane safety, aerodynamics, supply chain management, BCA systems software, suppliers, airline customers, and regulatory agencies
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Must have existing rights to work in Brazil
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Must be registered or eligible to register with the Engineering and Agronomy Regional Council (Conselho Regional de Engenharia e Agronomia - CREA)
Proficient in both verbal and written communications skills in the English Language
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
Experience with modeling and control systems
Programming experience
Knowledge in modeling with Matlab/Simulink
Knowledge in flight mechanics
Knowledge in programming language (Python or C++)
Knowledge in requirement management tools (IBM Rational DOORS)
Knowledge in version control and storage (GIT/SVN or equivalent)
Relocation:
