Job Description:

This position serves as a paint process specialist for MOSF, responsible for supporting technical aspects of planning, driving cost-reduction initiatives, and acting as a key problem solver to ensure efficient, reliable, and high-quality paint operations.

What You Will Do:

The Paint manufacturing engineer will perform the following:

  • Troubleshoot day-to-day paint process issues; such as: coating defects, finish quality, safety.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor process improvements to enhance paint application efficiency, quality, and cost performance.
  • Lead  the design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of paint equipment, tools, and systems (e.g., spray booths, curing ovens, application systems).
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source materials, equipment, and technical support for paint processes.
  • Analyze paint system performance and recommend improvements in materials, parameters, and application techniques.
  • Evaluate and approve new paint, equipment or technologies based on operational requirements and performance standards.
  • Support training activities related to paint processes and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Customer Audit Validation for Paint Process
  • Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective actions for paint-related defects or failures.
  • Manage and optimize paint operations including pretreatment, e-coat, final paint application, wastewater treatment systems and reverse osmosis processes.

Education requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Pre-Advanced English-speaking level.

Skill description:

Engineering

  • Intermediate working knowledge of manufacturing engineering
  • Knowledge of using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge with reading and interpreting engineering prints

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • 3 years or more of experience in Paint Processes
  • Working knowledge with CQMS certification requirements, NPI, APQP, and PPAP processes (Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams)
  • CAV Auditor Certification
  • Green Belt Certification

Additional information

  • This position is located in Santa Catarina, Nuevo León.
  • The work schedule is Monday through Friday (6:24 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), with the option of shift changes and weekend work.
  • This position requires travel up to 10% of the time (domestic and international).
  • Relocation is not available for this position.
