GE Aerospace Electrical Power business (Power Generation, Conversion, Distribution and Control) is leading the way in the application of advanced technologies towards the development and delivery of high-performance power products for aerospace and industrial hybrid vehicle applications.
The ‘Lead Engineer – Mechanical Component’ is a high impact and dynamic role. In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced power products and be part of the design, development, troubleshooting, and validation of generators or motors for the Aerospace power industry. This role includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components.

Site Overview
Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.

Roles Overview:

·       Execute the design, development, and validation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirement.

·       Demonstrate expertise in mechanical design including component and assembly design, GD&T, tolerance stack up and support the product design as required.

·       Have good understanding of engineering drawing and interpretation

·       Have proficiency in Unigraphics or similar CAD tools.

·       Work with technical leadership personnel / multi-functional teams to support the assigned project.

·       Lead or support engineering sub-teams assigned to work on the project specific deliverables.

·       Recommend with minimal guidance, the approach to meet the technical and program requirements.

·       Lead or participate in team to address organizational initiatives and generic issues. Explain information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.

·       Propose approaches or standard methods to meet the technical and program requirements.

·       Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

·       Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.

·       Participate and/or present in program reviews.

 

Required Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical or Production Engineering.

·       At least 4+ additional years of experience in Engineering position.

Preferred Qualifications:

·       Masters in Mechanical / Production Engineering from an accredited university or college or equivalent experience.

·       Mechanical design for electric machines, high-speed rotating parts

·       Provide engineering / technical support in a production environment

·       Familiar with Engineering Change (EC), Root Cause Corrective Analysis (RCCA), Cost Analysis.

·       Good understanding of manufacturing

·       GD&T ASME certification

·       Ability to read and understand relevant standards.

·       Strong oral and written communication skills.

·       Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

·       Effective problem identification and solution skills
