Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer (M.E) will be responsible for define, design, and follow the building of equipment to support the shop activities. This role will support shop floor personnel from a technical standpoint and drive productivity/manufacturability/cost-out improvements for the business. At the same time M.E. will work to develop procedure, work instruction, methods to support the production as well.

Avenza Aero Alliance is a provider of LM2500/LM6000 (Aero derivative gas turbines) overhaul services.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

 

         

- Provide technical support in the disassembly, repairs and assembly processes for the shop floor

- Define, design, and follow the execution of equipment/devices/machines starting by drafting technical specification till to the commissioning in the workshop. The M.E. will work strictly with:

  • Lines leaders/shop leader: to know and satisfy the needs of the shop.

  • EHS: to be compliant with internal and by Law requirement.

  • Quality team: to respect the product high quality level.

  • Lean team: to develop solutions in line with the lean concept.

  • Finance dept: to define the expenses and business cases where needed.

  • Product engineer dept: to know the product.

  • Sourcing Dept: to discuss the requirement asked for the bid phase.

- Develop Work instructions, methods, processes and procedures to give detailed information to the shop. i.e.: Handling, and lifting procedures, assembly, and disassembly procedures, etc. …collaborating with ops and cross-functions team (see previous point)

- Define hours to apply to the shop floor operation routings according to the operation to perform.

- Lead analysis and perform metrics and KPI to monitor shop floor performances in terms of efficiency/ productivity (hours analysis applied on the routings: for instance planned Vs actuals)

- Provide leadership/mentorship for team to lead shop floor improvement projects to resolution

- Share best practices across shop floor to drive consistency, ensure our processes are continuously improving

- Understand and collect the shop depts needs to create the investment plan.

- Track the expense for the fixtures among the depts to respect the budget defined year over year.

- Service Routings Analysis to define equipment/fixture/methods to perform the activities in shopfloor

- Purchase commercial equipment/device to support production.

- Support process improvement initiatives (like AWO, Committee) to reduce waste, cycle time, improve EHS/Quality/Ergonomics.

- Develop a strong partnership with internal and external teams to build continuous process improvement

- Partner with cross-functional leaders to drive a strong culture in Quality and Safety

- Hold self and team accountable to Aero Alliance Compliance and Integrity standards

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma) or equivalent knowledge or work experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Proficient skills in PC, Microsoft Office, Excel, Access

  • Use of CAD tooling

  • Oracle or other ERP system experience  

  • Fluent in English and Italian

  • Be a Solution-oriented problem solver

  • Experience with Gas Turbines engines, preferably aircraft or aero derivatives

  • Lean Manufacturing experience driving process improvements

  • Lean, DMS and problem solving processes Knowledge

  • Six Sigma certification a plus

Fascia retributive: Tra € 31,800.00 e € 47,700.00 lordi annui. La retribuzione specifica offerta terrà conto dell'istruzione, delle qualifiche, dell'esperienza e delle competenze del candidato.

The pay range for this position: Between € 31,800.00 and € 47,700.00 gross per annum. The specific pay offered will consider the candidate’s education, qualifications, experience and skill set.

A Collective Bargaining Agreement (‘CBA’ - Metalworking) is applicable in relation to position. The available benefits based on the currently effective CBA and company policies include the following:

Stipendio Base: La retribuzione seguirà le tabelle salariali previste dal CCNL di categoria Metalmeccanico Industria

Base salary: The remuneration is established according to the Metalworking CBA salary scale, which defines job groups and minimum salary levels.

Pensione Integrativa (Cometa): Tutti i livelli sono eligibili, ad eccezione dei dirigenti.
Contributo del datore di lavoro: 2% (2,2% se under 35). Contributo del dipendente: 1,2%. Base di calcolo: retribuzione mensile lorda.

Pension Fund (Cometa): All levels are eligible, except executives (dirigenti).
Employer Contribution: 2% (2.2% if under 35). Employee Contribution: 1.2%. Base: monthly gross salary.

Straordinario diurno sabato, domenica e festivi: 50% per le prime otto ore, 55% oltre le 8 ore

Straordinario notturno dal lunedì al venerdì:

  • 50% per impiegati e operai non turnisti per lavoro straordinario dalle 20:00 alle 8:00
  • 50% per operai turnisti per lavoro straordinario dalle 18:00 alle 6:00

Straordinario notturno sabato, domenica e festivi:

  • Prime otto ore: 60% per impiegati, 55% per operai non turnisti, 60% per operai turnisti

OT Premium: Daytime overtime Monday to Friday:

  • First two hours: 25% for office staff, 30% for non-shift production workers, 40% for shift production workers
  • Beyond two hours: 30% for office staff, 50% for non-shift production workers, 45% for shift production workers

Daytime overtime Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: First eight hours: 50%, Beyond eight hours: 55%

Night overtime Monday to Friday

  • 50% for office staff and non-shift production workers for overtime worked between 8:00 PM and 8:00 AM
  • 50% for shift production workers for overtime worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM

Night overtime Saturday, Sunday and public holidays:

  • First eight hours: 60% for office staff, 55% for non-shift production workers, 60% for shift production workers
  • Beyond eight hours: 75% for office staff, 65% for non-shift production workers, 75% for shift production workers

In case of compensatory time off, the premiums provided for under the applicable national collective bargaining agreement (CCNL) apply.

Maggiorazioni e indennità turno: [PER OPERAI TURNISTI]: Maggiorazione del 20% per la fascia oraria dalle 18:00 alle 22:00. Indennità di €3,50 per ogni turno lavorato.

Shift premium and allowance: [FOR SHIFT WORKERS]: 20% premium for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM. €3.50 allowance for each shift worked.
