Senior Civil Engineer – Transport
Title:
Senior Civil Engineer – TransportWe are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Transport & Civil team in Perth.
The role will support the delivery of major transport infrastructure projects across Western Australia, including rail, road, port and defence infrastructure projects. Working within multidisciplinary project teams, you will contribute to the planning, design, coordination and construction support of complex civil infrastructure projects from concept development through to detailed design and construction.
This position is ideally suited to an engineer with experience delivering rail and transport infrastructure projects and who enjoys technical problem solving, client engagement and multidisciplinary coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
- Deliver civil engineering design packages across transport infrastructure projects.
- Undertake civil design for roads, rail corridors, earthworks, drainage integration and associated infrastructure.
- Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, specifications and design documentation.
- Coordinate design interfaces across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Participate in design reviews, risk workshops and safety in design processes.
- Support design verification and quality assurance activities.
Rail Infrastructure Projects
- Contribute to the planning and design of rail civil infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate rail corridor civil works including earthworks, drainage, utilities and access arrangements.
- Support station, rail formation and level crossing projects.
- Interface with rail systems, track, signalling and operational stakeholders.
Project Delivery
- Deliver work packages safely, on time and within budget.
- Assist project managers with planning, scheduling and resource forecasting.
- Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities.
- Support multidisciplinary design coordination.
Construction Support
- Respond to contractor requests for information.
- Review construction methodologies and temporary works interfaces.
- Undertake site inspections and construction support activities.
- Assist in resolving technical issues during construction.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
- Participate in client meetings and technical workshops.
- Build and maintain positive client relationships.
- Support proposal preparation and tender submissions.
- Contribute to business development initiatives.
About You
You will be a motivated and collaborative engineer with a strong background in transport infrastructure design and delivery.
Essential
- Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
- Minimum10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience delivering transport infrastructure projects.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams.
- Strong understanding of civil infrastructure design principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Experience on PTA rail projects.
- Experience on Main Roads WA projects.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or progressing toward chartership.
- Design management or package management experience.
- Construction support experience.
Technical Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Rail civil infrastructure
- Road design and transport infrastructure
- Earthworks and grading

- Utilities coordination
- Civil structures interfaces
- Construction staging

- Safety in Design
Software Experience
