About the Role: :
The Lockheed Martin SimLab Operations group is looking for a mid-career engineer to support its world-class Simulation Lab. This opportunity is for candidates experienced in one or more of the following: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines, who is interested in “hands on” work in a lab environment. Experience with electro-optical products, hardware integration and test support is beneficial.
In this role, you will be part of a small team evolving and maintaining a software development and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) laboratory. You will apply industry-best practices in support of hardware and software development, and you will have the opportunity to leverage your strengths while expanding your breadth of expertise. A strong candidate understands feedback / control loops and is knowledgeable in electromechanical and electro-optical systems.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Test equipment assembly, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Test Procedure development and execution
• Support of limited environmental test and analysis
• Ability to interpret a mechanical drawing and electrical schematics
• Leading and/or supporting technical trade studies
• Developing solutions to electromechanical systems issues
• Supporting electro-optical test environment
• Supporting Mission Software teammates in their development and testing of new software products
• General maintenance of all lab equipment
Basic Qualifications:
Skill Requirements:
• Familiarity with operating software tools to test hardware functionality
• Experience working in a test lab or engineering laboratory environment
• Experience with interpreting mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, interconnection drawings, and schematics
• Experience networking and troubleshooting test equipment and systems
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks
Security Clearance / Work Authorization:
• To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.
• Although not required to start, selected candidates will be required to obtain a government issued Secret clearance for long term employment on this program.
Desired Skills:
• Motion-based hardware-in-the-loop testing experience
• Project management experience
• CAD software experience
• Experience with IR (or other) projection systems
• Cable assembly and soldering experience
• Circuit card assembly and electrical systems troubleshooting experience including circuit integrity testing
• Robust troubleshooting (i.e. cause and effect) skills
• Experience with missile hardware and/or software
• Familiarity with communications protocols such as USB, ethernet, serial and video
• Existing DoD Secret clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $123,500 - $217,695. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $142,000 - $246,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
