Role overview:
We are seeking a Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead the deployment, validation and optimization of calibration & test for our next-generation LiDAR sensors. In this role, you will bridge the gap between R&D and high-volume production, ensuring our products meet superior quality standards, performance metrics, and cost targets. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve yield, optimize test and ensure timely product delivery to customers.
What you will be doing:
Partner with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to install, debug, and maintain calibration and test systems, ensuring robust performance during pilot-line and mass-production phases.
Collaborate with the test engineering team to improve test processes, cycle time and automation.
Run gage R&R for line qualification and station matching and prepare MSA report.
Analyze production data (SPC/yield) to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve test failures, driving corrective and preventive actions (8D, 5 Whys).
Create and maintain technical documentation, including test procedures, operator work instructions, and calibration procedures.
Lead the integration with factory MES systems to improve visibility to assembly traceability and quality.
Drive DfT, design and development of PCBA test stations such as ICT and FCT used in our manufacturing line.
Develop the test strategy for the product, working cross-functionally with stakeholders such as the product design, manufacturing, and quality teams to determine test requirements and drive execution of associated projects.
Drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing process by analyzing manufacturing data to identify trends and identify root causes of failures.
Collaborate and influence the product development process and schedules, lead yield reporting and failure analysis process.
What you will have:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing product testing, specifically with high-precision electro-mechanical assemblies or LiDAR.
Proven ability to work with external vendors and Contract Manufacturers (CMs) for factory bring-up.
Strong proficiency in Python for automation, test data analysis, and scripting and linux shell scripts.
In-depth knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and Gage R&R studies.
Experience working with industrial robots and handling systems.
