Title: Lead - Policy Advocacy, Regulatory Affairs
Reporting To: India GR Lead
Brief Description
The Associate Director - Policy, Regulatory Affairs will anchor Accenture India's formal policy engagement engine. This role owns Accenture (ACN's) regulatory intelligence function, leads advocacy positioning across India's critical policy landscape, and manages Accenture's strategic presence in key industry chambers and Government consultations. The incumbent brings established relationships at Ministry and chambers leadership levels and operates with the credibility and autonomy required to represent Accenture in high-stakes policy environments.
Primary Skills
- Established access to and relationships within key GoI ministries, particularly MeitY, MEA, Ministry of Labour & Employment, MoF, MoC, DPIIT, MCA, Niti Aayog and equivalent state-level bodies
- Deep working knowledge of India's active regulatory agenda - DPDP Act, IT Rules, Labour Codes (all four), AI governance, Telecoms Act, CERT-IN, FDI & GCC-relevant policy frameworks etc.
- Senior-level chambers engagement experience - ability to negotiate, lead, and represent at the committee and working group levels in bodies such as NASSCOM, CII, FICCI, USIBC, AMCHAM etc.
- Policy advocacy strategy - experienced in converting regulatory intelligence into structured, outcome-oriented advocacy plans
- Strong stakeholder management and institutional relationship-building - able to work across Government stakeholders, industry peers, and internal leadership with equal ease
Optional / Desirable Skills
- Prior experience in a Corporate Affairs, Public Policy, or Government Relations function within a large MNC or technology services company
- Understanding of GCC policy incentives, state-level investment promotion frameworks and the broader GCC ecosystem
- Familiarity with Accenture's service portfolio and ability to connect regulatory developments to business opportunities or risk
- Background in legal, public administration, or economics
- Understanding if Industrial Relations (IR) would be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Intelligence & Policy Monitoring
- Own Accenture India's regulatory intelligence function, tracking active and emerging policy developments across technology, labour, data, and AI governance that are material to the business
- Produce structured, senior-audience regulatory briefs that translate complex policy developments into business risk, opportunity, and advocacy implications
- Maintain a forward-looking policy calendar covering Ministry consultations, parliamentary committee hearings, and chambers-led policy processes where Accenture should have a presence or a position
Policy Advocacy & Government Engagement
- Lead Accenture India's advocacy agenda across priority regulatory frameworks, including DPDP Act implementation, Labour Codes operationalisation, IT rules, evolving AI governance architecture etc.
- Develop Accenture's formal positions on key policy matters, in consultation with the GR Lead and relevant internal stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Business Lines)
- Represent Accenture in Government consultations, expert committees, and Ministry-level engagements, engaging at a level that builds institutional credibility and policy influence
- Manage advocacy coalitions in partnership with industry chambers and peer companies
Industry Chambers Engagement
- Own Accenture's strategic participation across priority chambers including but not limited to NASSCOM, CII, FICCI, AMCHAM, USIBC etc. with a focus on leadership-level committees and policy working groups
- Ensure chambers engagement is outcomes-oriented - each participation tied to a defined advocacy goal, relationship objective, or thought leadership opportunity
GRC & Internal Enablement
- Work closely with Accenture's Legal and Compliance teams to ensure regulatory developments are translated into internal GRC postures and business guidance in a timely manner
- Support state-level policy engagement as required, particularly in contexts tied to EODB, GST, Labour, AI, GCC mandates
- Contribute to the GR function's senior reporting, including global GR Lead, CMD level briefings, global GR updates, and leadership council inputs on the regulatory environment
