Lead Special Procedures and Cath Lab Tech – Anderson Hospital
Job Summary:
The Lead Angiography/Special Procedures Technologist acts as the expert-level principal radiologic technologist overseeing the technical operations required for the performance of routine and advanced procedures.
Essential Functions:
- Assists Licensed Practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional and neuro-Interventional procedures.
- Assists in coordination of research and implementation of process improvement projects in the department.
- Coordinates work assignments including on-call schedule.
- Provides input to leadership regarding hiring and annual performance appraisals.
- Administers contrast with a power injector as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Assesses patient risk for allergic reaction prior to administration.
- Selects and operates the imaging equipment and associated equipment.
- Verifies patient’s clinical history and completes pre and post procedural documentation.
Education:
- Associates from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (required)
Licensure/Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (preferred)
- Certification and Registration with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (required)
- Certification in Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (preferred)
- Certification in Vascular-Interventional Radiology (preferred)
- State Licensure (preferred)
Experience:
- 2 years of experience in radiology with surgery experience in use of CR (required)
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred)
- Picture archival communication system (PACS) experience (preferred)
