RN/Registered Nurse, Circulator, Outpatient Surgical Center, Harborview

Job Description

Harborview Medical Center has an opportunity for a Perioperative Register Nurse to join us in our Outpatient Surgery Center.   

The UW Medicine Outpatient Surgery Center at Harborview is a five operating room surgical unit with supporting pre-operative, post-operative, and sterile processing departments.  We opened our operating rooms in January 2026. We currently care for surgical patients needing Ophthalmology, Oculoplastic, Gynecology, ENT/OTO/Craniofacial, and Hand, Foot and Ankle care. We are expanding our services in July 2026 for Endoscopic Spine, Gender affirming (plastics), General Surgery, Urology and Laser for burn patients.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% Mon-Friday (4-10’s/ week) 

  • Day Shift (0645-1715)

  • No holidays, weekends, or nights

  • No call

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The UW Medicine Outpatient Surgery Center will provide daytime surgical procedures to the community of patients that meet developed criteria.

The Outpatient Surgery Center on the Harborview Campus is located on the 4th floor of Ninth and Jefferson Building (NJB) and opened January 2026 to patients.  The Surgery Center features 5 operating rooms, 12 pre/post bays, and sterile processing.   The hours of operation are Monday through Friday with no holidays, weekends, or night hours.  The Center offers same-day surgery procedures utilizing state-of–the-art equipment to our community of patients that meet the necessary criteria. This reflects the Center’s innovative, patient-centered culture, supporting ongoing operational efficiencies and quality improvements.  The goal is to provide a seamless, low-stress surgical experience for each patient, surgeon, and staff member.  The unit provides a soothing environment with natural lighting and patient privacy.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (CIRCULATING)

  • Patient teaching

  • Assist surgeon and anesthesia

  • Continuous patient assessment

  • Documentation in Epic

  • Participation in quality improvement projects

REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing

  • Two or more years perioperative experience 

  • Has a WA/MSL RN license to practice in the state of Washington

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$45.59 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$84.47 hourly

Other Compensation:

BSN or higher $1.00/hr
Certification pay $1.25/hr
Overtime pay
Relocation available
