Accountabilities:
- Lead the strategic planning, development, and oversight of scientific content across assigned accounts, ensuring scientific accuracy, relevance, and excellence.
- Serve as a senior scientific advisor for clients, driving productive partnerships and contributing to brand strategy discussions and decision-making.
- Direct the scientific aspects of medical communications programs, including educational initiatives, advisory boards, speaker programs, slide presentations, and other promotional medical education materials.
- Manage multiple large-scale or complex accounts while overseeing scientific contributions across various therapeutic areas.
- Partner closely with client services teams to develop project scopes, timelines, and resource allocation plans that support successful program execution.
- Identify opportunities for account expansion and organic business growth through strategic scientific leadership and client engagement.
- Contribute to business development initiatives by supporting scientific strategy, proposal development, and client presentations.
- Ensure all deliverables adhere to scientific, editorial, and ethical standards while maintaining high-quality outputs and meeting project deadlines.
- Advanced degree in a scientific discipline (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent) required.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in medical communications, medical education, or related scientific communication environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in oncology, with a strong understanding of clinical research, treatment landscapes, and emerging scientific developments.
- Extensive experience developing promotional medical education content, including advisory boards, speaker programs, slide decks, and scientific communication materials.
- Strong ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate complex scientific and clinical data to diverse audiences.
- Proven leadership experience managing scientific strategy across multiple accounts and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and client-facing communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of professional medical editorial standards, including AMA style and industry ethical guidelines.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound scientific judgment, and contribute strategically to client and business objectives.
