As an Employee & Labor Relations Business Partner EMEA at UiPath you will be responsible for labor relations strategy in the region, employee representative body engagement, and negotiations across key European markets, with a primary focus on Germany and the Netherlands.
This role is ideal for someone who brings deep German Works Council experience as well as exposure to any other employee representative bodies across EMEA.
In this role you will be responsible for leading negotiations, consultation processes, and day-to-day engagement with employee representative bodies. You will partner closely with business stakeholders, HR, Legal, and external counsel to shape strategy, prepare negotiation positions, manage risk, and ensure labor relations matters are handled in a structured, compliant, and pragmatic way.
The role will also support broader Employee Relations work across the region, including investigations, performance matters, terminations, restructurings, and other sensitive employee situations.
Lead labor relations strategy and negotiations across key European markets, with a primary focus on Germany and the Netherlands, partnering with Legal, HR, business leaders, and external counsel to develop commercially sound, legally compliant strategies aligned with company priorities.
Lead the preparation, negotiation, implementation, and ongoing management of employee representative body matters across Works Councils, Employees’ representatives and other employee forums, including the drafting of consultation materials, agreements, communications, briefing and position papers, leadership updates, risk assessments, consultation records, decision logs, and related documentation in collaboration with Legal and business stakeholders
Maintain a clear overview of all active employee representative body matters across Germany, the Netherlands, and other countries (e.g. France, Poland), including negotiation status, deadlines, dependencies, approvals, commitments, risks, files, and follow-up actions
Build trusted, constructive, and transparent relationships with employee representatives
Advise HRBPs, managers, and senior business leaders on employee representative body implications, consultation requirements, negotiation strategy, timelines, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder management
Create and maintain governance tools such as trackers, templates, calendars, process maps, briefing materials, dashboards, consultation checklists, negotiation plans, and decision logs.
Support Employee Relations matters, including workplace investigations, performance management, disciplinary matters, terminations, grievances, restructurings, and other sensitive employee situations
Partner with HR, Legal, and business stakeholders to ensure employee relations cases are handled fairly, consistently, and in line with local requirements.
Extensive experience (7-10 years) in labor relations, employee relations, employment law, HR business partnering, or a related field, with significant experience leading labor relations matters and negotiations
Hands-on experience working with German Works Councils, including information and consultation processes, co-determination topics, negotiations, stakeholder engagement, documentation, and process management
Proven experience leading or materially contributing to negotiations with employee representative bodies, Works Councils, unions, CSEs, or equivalent employee consultation structures, preferably in France and The Netherlands
Strong understanding of German labor relations principles and Works Council ways of working
Fluency in German and English, any other European language is a plus
Ability to build trust with employee representatives
Experience advising managers, HR partners, and senior business leaders on sensitive employee or labor relations topics
A structured, detail-oriented working style, with strong ownership of documentation, follow-up, process discipline, and implementation, combined with an analytical mindset and the ability to use data, reporting, and dashboards to inform decisions and track progress.Demonstrated sound judgment and discretion when balancing employee advocacy, business needs, legal requirements, and stakeholder interests in complex workplace matters
