What You'll be Doing:
- Leads cross-functional teams to drive improvements in the areas of safety, cost, quality, and delivery.
- Collaborates and partners with the functional Meijer Manufacturing teams to deploy identified process improvements on a timely basis.
- Responsible for identifying, scoping and prioritizing improvement opportunities within assigned area of responsibility.
- Provides full project, analysis, and process improvement consulting capabilities as needed.
- Leads cross-functional, complex process improvement initiatives that are critical to Meijer long-term financial and strategic goals.
- Responsible for portfolio management and execution of assigned projects.
- Reports on project progress to Champions and other appropriate leadership levels.
- Identifies barriers to project success and solicits help from program champions as needed.
- Provides time and support to other leaders within Meijer Manufacturing team as needed.
- Provides support for the development, budgeting, approval and execution of capital projects needed to deliver identified process improvements.
- Facilitates process improvement and project management training sessions in accordance with Meijer Manufacturing procedures and methods.
- Provides on-site presence and support to establish relationships and to help create employee engagement.
- Participates in annual planning and budgeting (expense and capital) cycle to develop plans and financial goals related to the overall business strategy.
- All other tasks as assigned.
What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or Business preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of dairy processing experience; 5+ years preferred.
- Previous Retail, Distribution, and/or Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Must have detailed technical knowledge of HTST and ESL dairy processing systems, dairy-grade liquid handling and filling systems, associated factory and utility systems, and finished food product storage and handling equipment.
- Collaborates effectively with plant and corporate personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of statistical analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment.
- Exercises effective leadership and program management skills. Has demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise influence without authority.
- Possesses advanced statistical knowledge and the ability to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects.
- Possesses advanced computer skills (Microsoft office, MiniTab, other data analysis and data source applications).
- Writes clearly and succinctly to communicate complex ideas to a variety of audiences from Senior Leadership to Team Members.
- Listens attentively and actively, paying attention to both small nuances & complex situations to determine appropriate process for objective achievement.
- Works with mathematical constructs and apply statistical concepts.
- Teaches analysis and decision-making regarding complex matters to a diverse team with individual learning styles.
- Manages projects, to set priorities and goals, and to meet deadlines.
- Picks up on technical issues quickly, learn new skills, and attain knowledge (including retail industry subjects, product & technical knowledge).
