People Operations Specialist
Model N is seeking a highly organized, employee-centered, and detail-oriented People Operations Specialist to support core People Operations processes across the employee lifecycle. This role executes key HR operational activities, responds to employee and manager questions, and delivers efficient, consistent, high-quality support.
The ideal candidate brings experience in HR operations, employee lifecycle support, and Workday transaction management. This person is comfortable working within established processes, partnering across teams, and maintaining a high bar for accuracy, responsiveness, and service in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
HR Operations & Escalation Support
- Respond to Tier 1 & Tier 2 HR operations inquiries and support resolution of employee and manager questions, escalating more complex issues as needed.
- Support employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, job changes, offboarding, terminations, and employee documentation.
- Ensure HR operational requests and transactions are completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with established processes and service expectations.
- Partner with Payroll, IT, Legal, Talent Acquisition, and other cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and maintain continuity of service.
- Drive a consistently high-quality employee experience by providing responsive, thoughtful, and consistent support.
HR Systems, Knowledge Management & Process Improvement
- Identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation efforts that improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance service quality across People Operations.
- Review workflows and transaction patterns to identify issues and support improvements, including automation and system enhancements. Contribute to efforts that reduce cycle time, improve efficiency, and strengthen employee self-service.
- Support testing, validation, and implementation of process or system enhancements in partnership with HRIS and People Operations leadership.
- Maintain and improve job aids, process documentation, and knowledge content that support employee and manager self-service.
- Support the ongoing maintenance and optimization of Harper, the company’s HR AI and knowledge platform. Maintain and update content to ensure HR policies, processes, and guidance remain accurate, current, and useful. Review employee questions and Harper responses to identify content gaps, recurring themes, and opportunities to improve self-service and support quality.
- Escalate system, process, or policy issues appropriately and contribute to practical, sustainable solutions.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Support recurring HR programs and operational processes, including performance cycles, policy rollouts, compliance activities, and training-related work.
- Assist with audit preparation, documentation gathering, and compliance reporting.
- Conduct regular audits of HR data and operational processes to help ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, organization, and follow-through across assigned responsibilities.
U.S. Onboarding
- Coordinate onboarding for new U.S.-based employees and help ensure a smooth, timely start experience.
- Partner across teams to support onboarding workflows and improve speed and consistency. Ensure timely completion of onboarding documentation, system setup, and I-9 compliance requirements. Identify opportunities to improve the onboarding experience and reduce friction.
Immigration Coordination & Tracking
- Support immigration tracking and coordination in partnership with external immigration counsel and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records related to visa status, expiration dates, and filing timelines.
- Coordinate employee communications and documentation related to immigration processes and deadlines.
- Support compliance with immigration-related process requirements and reporting obligations.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in People Operations, HR operations, HR shared services, or HR systems support.
- Strong experience supporting employee lifecycle transactions and HR operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience with Workday HCM, including transaction support, business process execution, and data auditing.
- Experience supporting HR operational requests and employee questions with strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Experience supporting HR compliance activities, audits, and operational reporting.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong customer service orientation and a consistent, employee-centered approach to support.
- Experience with U.S. onboarding and employment eligibility verification requirements (I-9).
- Experience coordinating immigration processes and working with immigration counsel preferred.
- Experience with HR service delivery or ticketing platforms (for example, Jira) preferred.
- Experience supporting HR knowledge management platforms, AI-enabled service delivery tools, or employee self-service technologies preferred.
