ABOUT THE ROLE:  

The CIB Managing Director – LCM Syndicate is a leveraged finance leadership role standing between and interfacing with Originations and the Loan Sales and Trading desk.  Individual will build relationships with clients, investors, peers, and executive management to manage risk through sound underwriting decisions.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:  

The responsibilities for this role are below.  In addition, you may support projects of varying complexity based on skill and organizational priorities. 

  • Be a subject matter expert on high-yield markets, including structure, pricing, syndication strategies, and deal execution end-to-end. 
    • Develop and maintain relationships with internal (bankers) and external (corporate and private equity) clients focused on deal execution and advancement of the Syndicated Leveraged Finance platform. 
    • Develop and implement strategies that drive outstanding results across the Loan Capital Markets Team. 
    • Work with Originators and the Financial Sponsor Group to provide leadership in the evaluation and execution of complex capital markets transactions in the high-yield loan and bond markets. 
    • Work with Senior Bankers, Investment Bankers, and other members of the Commercial leadership team to provide training and resources around the effort to identify and address major capital markets opportunities in their geographies or industry verticals.
    • Develop relationships with peers at other firms and high-yield investors in both the broadly syndicated and private credit markets.
  • The Managing Director may play a supervisory role and be responsible for providing employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; developing employees to their fullest potential by providing challenging opportunities; developing the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizing and rewarding employees for accomplishments

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Graduate degree preferred.  
  • 15+ years of experience in Banking, Investment Banking, or Capital Markets 
  • Proven track record of success in originating, structuring, and closing complex financial transactions. 
  • Leadership experience and history of involvement in key decisions around a growing financial services business. 
  • Expertise in one or more industries. 
  • Established contacts at private equity firms and institutional investors
    • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 79, and Series 63 licenses required; Series 24 (Supervisor) license preferred. 
    • Ability to travel as required.  

  

REQUIRED SKILLS:  

Qualified candidates will bring professional proficiency, generally acquired through 15 years of relevant work or internship experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.  

  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills across matrixed organizations and cross-functional teams.  
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.  
  • Strong mentoring, leadership and teamwork skills.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a higher degree of proficiency (typically from 15 years of practical experience or advanced academic exposure) across the following areas:

  • Origination & Commercial Impact – Skilled in identifying opportunities, developing pitches, and converting ideas into revenue-generating engagements.

  • Market Insight & Thought Leadership – Ability to translate market trends into strategic content and client engagement strategies.
