You will focus on day‑to‑day regulatory compliance execution, regulatory monitoring, internal compliance implementation, and cross‑functional coordination under the leadership of the CN Regulatory Compliance Officer. You will provide professional regulatory support to navigate China's complex payment and cross‑border payment regulatory landscape, ensuring full operational compliance with PBOC, SAFE, and other PRC requirements, while supporting business growth and license‑related initiatives.
This role is suited for a detail‑oriented, action‑driven professional who excels in hands‑on compliance execution, cross‑team collaboration, and adapting to fast‑changing regulatory and business environments. You will work closely with the compliance leadership team to resolve regulatory blockers, implement internal controls, and deliver tangible compliance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the CN Regulatory Compliance Officer in overseeing end‑to‑end regulatory compliance and risk control for Airwallex's mainland China non‑bank payment institution business, ensuring daily operations are aligned with licensing terms and PRC regulatory requirements.
Monitor, track, and analyze updates to mainland China payment, cross‑border RMB and foreign exchange control, and relevant financial regulatory policies; prepare regular regulatory trend reports and internal briefings to support compliance strategy development.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams including Product, Commercial, Operations, and Legal to embed compliance requirements into product development, business processes, and client‑facing activities; provide timely compliance advice to address operational risks.
Draft, review, and update internal compliance manuals, policies, procedures, and control documents to align with evolving PRC laws, regulations, and licensing requirements; conduct internal compliance implementation and routine reviews.
Support product iteration, business expansion, and regulatory license upgrade initiatives by performing compliance assessments, preparing supporting documents, and ensuring new products or services meet regulatory standards in mainland China.
Handle day‑to‑day management of payment licenses, regulatory filings, periodic reports, and record‑keeping requirements; coordinate with the Public Affairs team on regulator communications, industry association engagements, and routine government relations outreach.
Liaise with internal stakeholders across Airwallex's global group to share mainland China regulatory updates, align compliance standards, and support group‑wide cross‑border business compliance coordination.
Conduct internal compliance training, risk identification, and routine compliance checks to proactively mitigate regulatory risks for the China business.
