Senior Compliance Officer

We are seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join our team in Dunton on a hybrid working basis. In this highly visible role, you will serve as our subject matter expert on FCA, PRA, and European banking regulations. You will collaborate directly with business leaders to safely launch new products, manage regulatory change, and protect our customers and brand. - Regulatory Advisory: Act as the central point of contact for technical compliance advice, helping business units interpret and apply FCA, PRA, and European banking rules.
- Regulatory Change Management: Monitor and analyze legislative changes, updating internal policies, tracking tools, and training materials to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Product & Promotion Gatekeeper: Review and approve new financial products and marketing campaigns (financial promotions) to ensure they meet regulatory standards and deliver fair customer outcomes.
- Governance & SM&CR: Oversee and enhance the framework for the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SM&CR), providing robust second-line-of-defence challenge on applications.
- Reporting & Submissions: Coordinate and submit operational risk and compliance returns to the FCA, PRA, and other trade bodies, and manage the FSCS Single Customer View (SCV) files.
- Third-Party Risk: Support the business in managing vendor compliance and outsourcing notifications.
- Leadership: Deputise for the Compliance Manager on technical matters and support the wider compliance team.
- Experience: 5+ years of compliance experience within a regulated bank, financial services consultancy, or a regulatory body (e.g., FCA, PRA, or FOS).
- Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks, including the FCA & PRA handbooks, Consumer Credit Act, and product governance.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze and manipulate large amounts of data (management information, customer files, regulatory papers) and translate them into clear business recommendations.
- Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting complex regulatory issues to senior committees.
- Education & Credentials: Preferably educated to degree level. You should hold, or be actively studying toward, an industry-recognised compliance qualification (e.g., International Compliance Association).

This position is based in Dunton, and it is expected the successful candidate will be able to attend the Dunton Campus for typically 4 days a week and remain flexible on the days they are required to attend the office according to business requirements.
