Core Responsibilities
Own and drive the WS&O safety and compliance agenda for the LVA FM organization.
Ensure facilities-related compliance with local, state, and federal requirements, including OSHA and EPA standards.
Lead compliance oversight for WS&O routines, including regulatory compliance and risk management.
Partner with the IFM Compliance Execution Team to ensure health and safety programs are executed to standard.
Work across various teams to close compliance gaps before they become operational risks.
Support commissioning, handover, and startup readiness by addressing safety and compliance requirements.
Coordinate incident follow-up, corrective actions, and escalation where expectations are not met.

The Facilities organization at LEGO Manufacturing Virginia (LVA) is a vital part of Workplace Solutions & Operations (WS&O), dedicated to ensuring the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of all site buildings, utilities, and workplace environments. This team supports the factory’s mission to create a world-class, carbon-neutral manufacturing site, embodying LEGO Group’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and employee experience. The department governs facility strategy, performance, data, compliance, and IFM execution, embedding operational standards early and consistently across the site.
The Safety and Compliance Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the broader organization by providing clear compliance oversight, audit readiness, risk management, and safety governance across LVA facilities operations. Acting as the key interface between WS&O, EHS, GWP, operations, and the IFM partner, this role ensures that safety and compliance requirements are understood, followed, documented, and escalated before they become operational risks. By integrating safety and compliance into daily operations, the role helps build LVA the right way from the start, protecting people and enabling performance.
Do you have what it takes
A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field is preferred. Equivalent relevant experience in these areas is also highly valued and considered. Experience in safety, compliance, EHS, facilities, manufacturing, or industrial operations environments.
Must have:
Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Experience with EHS/HSE compliance, safety management, audits, inspections, or operational readiness.
Proven ability to work across functions and influence without direct authority.
Strong structured problem-solving skills with the ability to translate compliance requirements into clear operational routines.
High personal ownership, attention to detail, and confidence to escalate safety or compliance risks.
Experience working with external service providers, contractors, or IFM partners to ensure safe work execution.
Familiarity with digital systems for documentation, audit tracking, and compliance reporting.
Nice to have:
Experience working in a greenfield, startup, commissioning, or large-scale ramp-up environment.
Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 41001, or similar management system standards.
Experience supporting permit-to-work, LOTO, hot work, confined space, or high-risk work control processes.
Experience with IFM partners, contractor management, or outsourced facilities service delivery.
Curiosity and resilience to operate in a greenfield startup environment where processes are still being built.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to balance collaboration and clear escalation.
Experience using digital systems for asset data and compliance reporting.

Compensation
The salary for this position has a range of $104,327.00 - $156,491.00 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
