Paralegal, Contracts & Operations

Fieldwire · San Francisco, CA (Hybrid) or United States (Remote)

Who we’re looking for

Fieldwire is seeking a proactive, commercially minded Paralegal to join our growing Contracts & Legal Operations team. This is a broad, high-impact role that spans commercial contracts, procurement, office administration, and operational legal matters. You will be a key interface between our customers, vendors, and internal teams — managing contracts end-to-end, supporting deal deployment, and helping scale our operational infrastructure. You will work closely with the Director of Operations, Sales, Finance, and IT/Security to ensure Fieldwire's contracting and operational processes are efficient, compliant, and scalable.

What you’ll be doing

The primary responsibilities for this role include:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including customer contracts, NDAs, vendor agreements, procurement terms, and amendments
  • Act as primary interface with customers for contractual matters — ensuring contractual obligations are clearly communicated, understood, and monitored throughout the contract lifecycle
  • Review terms and conditions to identify and address risks across financial terms, acceptance criteria, delivery requirements, warranty, IP, termination, indemnification, and all other material risk areas; recommend mitigation strategies
  • Plug into deployment efforts: structure contracts, pricing frameworks, and operational setup for new customer and partner engagements
  • Propose and develop scalable solutions to improve contracting efficiency — including template management, playbook development, and automation
  • Collaborate with business units (Sales, Finance, Product) and legal team members to streamline contract management processes and drive continuous improvement
  • Implement and administer the CLM platform (Summize) — including redline workflows, approval routing, Salesforce integration, and automated tracking
  • Support procurement activities: evaluate vendor terms, track renewal schedules, manage pricing insights across the vendor portfolio
  • Assist with and drive internal scaling initiatives including office lease management, office expansion, and international operational setup
  • Handle office operations matters including HQ building operations support, lease administration, and vendor/facilities management
  • Advise on a variety of legal matters including information security and compliance, intellectual property rights, and data privacy — including negotiating data protection agreements (DPAs) and answering data privacy queries
  • Maintain familiarity with CLM and security tools relevant to contract governance and compliance
  • Assist with and drive internal initiatives such as DOD compliance support, risk management activities, and audit preparation
  • Monitor regulatory and contractual obligations; proactively flag upcoming milestones, renewals, and risks to relevant stakeholders

Core qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved programme, or equivalent legal training
  • 3+ years of paralegal or contracts experience, ideally in a SaaS, technology, or fast-growth company
  • Direct experience with a variety of legal matters including strategic business agreements, information security and compliance, IP, and data privacy (including negotiating DPAs)
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial contract structures, risk identification, and mitigation strategies
  • Experience with CLM platforms and/or security/compliance tools (e.g. Summize, Ironclad, DocuSign)
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or equivalent CRM and how contracts integrate with deal workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — able to explain complex legal concepts clearly to business stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams independently
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, scaling environment with evolving processes

And if you have any of the following, we REALLY want you to apply today!

  • Versatile self-starter — comfortable picking up any topic as it arises, from security questionnaires to ad-hoc compliance or legal requests, and running with it independently
  • Experience with office lease administration and facilities management
  • Familiarity with DOD compliance requirements or government contracting standards
  • Knowledge of international operations, entity setup, or cross-border contracting
  • Exposure to construction industry contracts, lien waivers, or project-based procurement
  • Experience supporting a Deal Desk or Revenue Operations function
  • Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy frameworks as applied to commercial agreements
