The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Legal Director, Commercial to join our global legal team and support a fast-growing business operating across fintech, payments, e-commerce, and digital platforms.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with product and business teams in a dynamic, international environment, and is ready to step into a broader, high-impact role.
What you'll do
Lead the Company’s global commercial contracting framework while providing end-to-end legal support across commercial, corporate, regulatory, and policy matters in the assigned regions (APAC and the Americas), enabling scalable operations and effective risk management across multiple jurisdictions.
Leading and developing a high-performing legal team and setting a benchmark for excellence.
Own and maintain the Company’s global commercial contracting framework, including templates, playbooks, and standard positions
Develop and implement contracting standards and policies to ensure consistency, scalability, and risk alignment across all regions
Advise regional business teams on complex, high-value or non-standard commercial arrangements and define fallback positions and risk parameters.
Advise on regional aspects of M&A, strategic partnerships, and restructuring initiatives
Support Corp Sec. in corporate governance, entity management, and intra-group structuring within the assigned regions
Partner with Legal Operations to improve contracting efficiency, automation, and lifecycle management
Collaborate with Compliance and other control functions to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies
What you'll bring
Minimum 10 years combined law firm and in-house experience, with strong commercial negotiation expertise
Experience in negotiating cross-border commercial contracts, including exposure to US counterparties
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across regions and functions
Proven leadership and team management experience
Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and communication skills
Background in fintech, payments, e-commerce, SaaS, or digital platform businesses
