What you will do

In this role, you will support the UK Corporate Affairs Lead in delivering communications that strengthen Amgen’s reputation, support business priorities and engage employees across the UK & Ireland commercial affiliate and UK-based global R&D footprint.

You will help shape clear, compelling communications across external, internal, digital and leadership channels, working closely with colleagues in Commercial, Medical, R&D, Policy/Government Affairs, HR and global Corporate Affairs.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute communications plans aligned to UK & Ireland business priorities, including corporate reputation, product milestones, R&D news, policy/access priorities and employee engagement.
  • Create clear messages and high-quality content for internal and external audiences, ensuring alignment with Amgen’s global narrative and local compliance requirements.
  • Identify and deliver high-impact media, digital and stakeholder opportunities that bring Amgen’s UK story to life and support share of voice in priority areas.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support communications around data, regulatory milestones, launches, issues and external partnerships.
  • Lead internal communications across UK & Ireland, including editorial planning, leadership communications and the CONNECT employee engagement programme.
  • Manage agency and vendor support as needed, ensuring work is focused, high quality and aligned to business priorities.

What we expect of you

  • Relevant experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or corporate communications, either in-house or agency-side.
  • Strong understanding of the UK healthcare, pharmaceutical and media environment; familiarity with the ABPI Code is essential.
  • Experience developing strategic communications plans, messages and multichannel content for internal and external audiences.
  • Strong writing, storytelling and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and partner with senior leaders, cross-functional teams and global colleagues.
  • Strong digital and content judgement; experience with social media, analytics, Microsoft suite and emerging AI tools helpful.
  • Degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, public relations, business, science or a related field.

LOCATION The team has a virtual first approach, working flexibly from home with regular team connection opportunities at our Uxbridge and/or Cambridge next generation workspaces.
