The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Medical Countermeasure (MCM) Development Programmatic & Technical Advisor to support therapeutics, vaccines, diagnostics, and enabling technologies innovation and development programs. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting MCM development programs across the R&D life cycle. They will thrive at the intersection of science, strategy, and program execution and be motivated to accelerate the development of life-saving medical countermeasures.

As part of our team, you'll work with world-class scientists, technical experts, and public health professionals to support enabling technologies. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client's mission, and problem-solving will enable the mission's success. Our client supports the advanced research and development (R&D) of medical countermeasures (MCMs) to protect Americans and respond to 21st century national health security threats. They employ a comprehensive portfolio approach to address the public health consequences of CBRN events, pandemic influenza, and emerging infectious diseases.

What You’ll Work On:

  • Partner with a Project Officer to design, execute, and manage complex R&D programs. Help shape strategy, define technical direction, and operationalize programs from concept through execution.

  • Provide feedback on MCM, including diagnostic, vaccine, and therapeutic, development approaches including research and development plans as well as regulatory and clinical strategies.

  • Participate in strategic discussions and work within the Government in building new program areas.

  • Participate in Market Research efforts. Conduct deep landscape analyses, including literature, market, and stakeholder engagement, to identify emerging technologies, gaps, opportunities and potential players. Translate insights into actionable program strategies and funding priorities.

  • Contribute to the full lifecycle of program management, including acquisition package development, topic development, proposal evaluation, contract oversight, and performance monitoring across a portfolio of performers.

  • Provide scientific and technical insight across a portfolio of innovations focused on improving national health security.

  • Support additional duties related to programmatic support and portfolio oversight.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in biological or chemical sciences, life sciences, clinical studies, pharmaceutical industry regulatory affairs, quality assurance, quality control positions, clinical trials, or epidemiological research

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint

  • Experience in program or project management within a scientific, engineering, or biomedical field

  • Knowledge of medicinal chemistry, preclinical and clinical development, including animal models, pharmacology, toxicology, and clinical operations, chemistry, microbiology, virology, and immunology

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Master's degree in a Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, such as Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Microbiology, or Physical Science field, such as Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science

Nice If You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in early-stage biomedical product development, such as therapeutics, vaccines, diagnostics, or enabling technologies

  • Experience with the health security and medical countermeasure innovation ecosystem

  • Experience with U.S. government health organizations

  • Knowledge of pre-clinical development, such as animal models, pharmacology, or toxicology, or assay chemistry, microbiology, virology, or immunology

  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail and develop technical documents and presentations

  • Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects effectively across various stages of their lifecycle with minimal oversight

  • Ability to operate independently within a fast-paced environment and maintain diligent adherence to deadlines and deliverables

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing and editing

  • Possession of excellent organization and client service skills

  • Doctorate degree in a Biological Science, Chemical Science, Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Science, Physical Science, Biomedical Science, or Bioengineering field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $112,800.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
