Senior Marketing Video Producer | Creative Services
About the role:
The Morningstar Creative Services Team is looking for an experienced Senior Marketing Video Producer with a passion for executing marketing video content that drives a modular multimedia system forward. In this role, you will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for execution of marketing videos and building components the organization can use to scale. Focused on the production of short- and long-form content with a social-first mindset, tasks include planning, producing, and editing engaging video content across digital platforms. This role combines storytelling, technical editing, and strategic content development to deliver platform-optimized clips that grow audience engagement on our global websites, social media, and other digital channels.
The ideal candidate is AI‑fluent—playing a key role in advancing how AI is thoughtfully applied within the design practice—helping explore, pilot, and lead the adoption of AI‑enabled tools and workflows that augment design thinking, accelerate iteration, and improve clarity—while upholding Morningstar’s standards for quality, ethics, brand integrity, and human‑centered design.
This position is based in our Chicago office and follows a hybrid model with a minimum of four days onsite. We intentionally prioritize in‑person collaboration, as we’ve found it strengthens creative quality, alignment, and team momentum.
Our creative culture:
Morningstar is a collaborative environment where creative roles work across disciplines and regions with a strong commitment to craft. Our design heritage is rooted in helping people around the world make confident investing decisions. We work as integrated teams—sharing feedback, solving problems together, and supporting each other’s growth. We look for team members who bring good judgment, empathy, and a collaborative mindset to every project, and who can navigate business trade-offs and competing priorities while maintaining Morningstar’s standard of design excellence. The Creative Services team embraces brand consistency and increased efficiency by building design systems and leaning into AI for scale and innovation.
Job responsibilities:
· Utilize your expertise for all aspects of media production execution, including narrative development, pre-production, hands-on technical production, post-production, editing, media content delivery and dependable archiving of material.
· Create narratives that translate long-form source content—such as research, interviews, and strategies—into compelling video narratives that deliver great storytelling to specific audiences.
· A primary focus of this role is to leverage the foundation of a modular video system and execute, maintain and build upon the system.
· Use industry best practices to plan and perform the execution of video content including talent direction, lighting, camera operation, sound capture, video editing, graphics creation (using existing guidelines and platforms), audio enhancement, and file encoding.
· Work in partnership with designers and writers throughout the company to drive alignment to brand standards, meet a high standard of production quality, and advance smart, innovative design systems built for scale.
· Collaborate with designers, writers, marketers and other multimedia teams with a one-team mindset.
· Embrace an agile work environment, including the ability to embrace iterative marketing design while maintaining a cohesive and holistic view of the overall design experience.
· Take sophisticated financial data and analysis and distill it into easily-understood video concepts with a strong affinity to tell stories through data visualizations in cross-channel applications.
· Champion automation, explore use of AI tools, and find opportunities to build creative solutions that increase speed to market, without sacrificing creative quality.
· Partner with peers and stakeholders to align on strategy, project management needs, timelines, and executional details.
· Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and best practices to ensure that content created is relevant and appealing.
Qualifications:
· 7+ years of experience in multimedia, corporate video production, social media content creation or related fields
· Strong background and experience creating video for cross-channel digital marketing campaigns, from concept to execution
· Digitally-savvy with proven experience around Adobe Creative Suite—Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Audition— and Microsoft platforms, Figma
· Strong design, color and typography skills that align with brand standards
· Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills; self-directed, comfortable working independently, and able to thrive in a rapidly changing environment
· Have an enthusiastic and engaging presentation style and visual communication skills to present design solutions to project teams and stakeholders
· Proven fluency with AI-enabled content workflows, including experience evaluating, piloting, or operationalizing AI tools that improve content quality, efficiency, or governance
· Ability to successfully receive and interpret direction from creative partners and marketers, proactively acting on feedback
· Self-starter with ability to coordinate multiple large and small projects in a fast-paced environment managing multiple stakeholders, projects, and priorities
· Experience working with large global brands that demonstrate scale is a plus
· Bachelor’s degree in multimedia, design, communication arts, or related field, and a minimum of five years of experience in a creative agency or in-house creative in marketing, financial services, technology, consulting or consumer products
