Summary:
Act as the ongoing interface between the client and the system or application. Responsible for system administration across a heterogeneous hybrid estate comprising Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Exadata CloudCustomer (ExaCC) infrastructure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Windows Server environments.

Job Requirements:
Key Responsibilities:
Administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6,7, 8, 9,10) systems including installation, configuration, package management (YUM/DNF), and hardening
Support Oracle Exadata CloudCustomer (ExaCC) infrastructure operations including compute node management, storage cell administration
Administer Microsoft Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022, 2025) including Active Directory integration, Group Policy, IIS, WSUS patching, and Windows Clustering
Manage system patching and compliance across RHEL (using yum/dnf and Red Hat Satellite), Windows (WSUS), and AWS EC2 using Systems Manager Patch Manager
Knowledge on AWS infrastructure including EC2 instances, VPC networking, IAM roles and policies, S3, EBS volumes, and AWS Systems Manager
Configure and maintain storage, file systems, LVM, NFS, and NAS mounts across RHEL and Windows environments
Monitor system health, CPU, memory, disk I/O, and network performance across RHEL, ExaCC nodes, AWS, and Windows
Implement OS-level security hardening, CIS benchmark compliance, vulnerability remediation, and audit support across all platforms
Automate system administration tasks using Shell, PowerShell, and Ansible playbooks across the hybrid estate
Maintain system documentation, patching calendars, runbooks, and configuration baselines for all managed platforms

RHEL: YUM / DNF, systemd, LVM, NFS, firewalld, OpenSSH, Red Hat Subscription Manager
ExaCC: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Console, dcli, cellcli, exawatcher, Oracle ExaCC platform coordination
AWS: EC2, VPC, S3, EBS, Systems Manager, CloudWatch, AWS CLI, Trusted Advisor
Windows Server: WSUS, Windows Admin Center, PowerShell DSC, Failover Clustering
Monitoring: Windows Event Viewer, Splunk
Patch Management: Red Hat Satellite, WSUS, Azure update Manager
Automation: Ansible, Bash / Shell, PowerShell, AWS CLI, Terraform (basic)
ITSM: ServiceNow
Backup: Networker, AWS Backup
SLA / KPI Ownership:
Ensure adherence to SLA/KPI commitments across RHEL, ExaCC, AWS, and Windows Server environments including patching
Track MTTR (Mean Time to Resolve) and MTTA (Mean Time to Acknowledge) for all infrastructure incidents
Monitor system availability, patch compliance rates, and resource utilization across all platforms
Publish service performance reports and contribute to monthly service review decks
Client Facing Responsibilities:
Participate in war room calls during major platform incidents across the hybrid estate
Handle escalation matrix and maintain clear communication with business and technical stakeholders
Provide timely status updates during incidents, patching windows, and infrastructure change events
Participate in governance, service review, CAB, and capacity planning meetings
Coordinate with Oracle Cloud Operations, AWS Support, Red Hat Support, and Microsoft Premier Support for issue resolution
Technical Experience:
3 to 5 years of total experience in system administration across Linux, Windows, and cloud platforms in a hybrid environment
Hands-on experience with RHEL 6/7/8/9/10 administration including LVM, networking, and package management
Working knowledge of Oracle Exadata Cloud Customer infrastructure operations and coordination with ExaCC platform teams
Practical experience with AWS compute, networking, IAM, and Systems Manager in a production environment
Working knowledge of Windows Server administration including WSUS patch management
Exposure to infrastructure automation using Ansible or PowerShell DSC is a plus
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) preferred AWS SysOps Administrator or Microsoft Azure / Windows Server certification a plus
Professional Attributes:
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in a client-facing environment
Ability to handle critical multi-platform infrastructure incidents and coordinate escalations under pressure
Flexible to work in a hybrid on-call or 24/7 rotation model as required
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset across heterogeneous operating environments
Willingness to cross-train across RHEL, ExaCC, AWS, and Windows platforms and embrace infrastructure-as-code practices
