Manager, Manufacturing Production Process Engineering

This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.

The Manager, Manufacturing Production Process Engineering, is primarily responsible for leading a team to manage the strategy and project portfolio for the engineering team. You will ensure compliance with regulations and foster a culture of excellence through performance management and employee engagement at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX. Specifics include:

  • Establish and enforce project governance, stage-gate processes, and project management standards.

  • Manage a portfolio of manufacturing engineering projects (capex, automation, tooling, NPI, continuous improvement) directly and through direct reports.

  • Partner with engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and finance to prioritize and execute projects.

  • Oversee project planning, resourcing, budgeting, risk management, and reporting.

  • Implement and maintain project management tools, dashboards, and KPI tracking (schedule, cost, scope, ROI).

  • Coach and develop project managers and cross-functional teams.

  • Identify 3rd party contractors, manage their contracts, and ensure partnerships are right-sized.

  • Lead portfolio reviews and executive reporting with clear visibility to risks and milestones.

  • Drive continuous improvement in PMO processes and project delivery performance.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+1 yr)

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

  • 5 Years of relevant experience

  • 3 Years of demonstrated leadership

  • Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST

  • Location: Onsite

  • Travel Requirements: Up to 10%

  • Relocation Assistance: Yes
