Position Overview
The Global Technology team in Bangalore has an immediate opening for an Associate Materials & Processes Research Engineer support the Materials & Manufacturing Technology Integration team(MMTI). The team is responsible for developing and implementing advanced manufacturing technologies and processes into the production systems for Boeing. The team works in the following technical areas associated with production processes: composites and composite part fabrication, metals and detail part fabrication, Wire harness fabrication, corrosion and finishes, fasteners and assembly processes. The team also provides Engineering support such as reviewing the drawings and responding to Airlines customer queries.
Position Responsibilities:
Performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Materials, Process & Physics for various Boeing Programs
Review of Boeing Drawings, part lists, process specifications, substitution list and determine the Engineering requirements in the area of Materials, Process & Physics
Evaluate various Industry specification for materials and suggest alternates to Boeing specification
Provide Technical guidance to Boeing suppliers in the area of Electrical and Wire harness assembly
Evaluate and test the emerging technologies in the area of Wire harness assembly  for potential application to business needs
Supporting Boeing Engineering Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Production, Chemical Engineering and Aerospace), or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
Should have basic understanding of wire harness fabrication processes.
Basic knowledge of electrical parts like connectors, wires/cables, backshells, contacts and how these parts fit together, is required
2+ years of shop floor experience in Wire Harness Assembly preferably in aerospace Company
2+ years experience in reviewing Engineering drawing, process specification
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Should be able to write process requirements in a clear and concise manner that conveys customer (Boeing) intent without any ambiguity.
Should be able to communicate with suppliers and provide technical support by responding to their queries during on-site visits.
Exposure to Boeing specifications (D documents, BACs, BSSs, BMS) and how to navigate them is desired.
Awareness of industry standards like Mil, SAE etc. for electrical parts is desired.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master +4 years' related work experience).
