About the position
Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Engineer to join the Facilities Design Engineering team. Reporting to the Facilities Design Engineering Team Lead, this role will be based in Chevron’s office in Bengaluru.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
Key responsibilities
Perform piping stress and flexibility analysis for refinery using CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
Execute advanced engineering assessments and special studies using ANSYS for complex piping, support, and equipment interaction problems.
Evaluate existing and modified piping systems for thermal expansion, sustained loads, occasional loads, and equipment interface suitability.
Apply advanced mechanical engineering principles, including fracture mechanics, fatigue, buckling, creep and general mechanics of materials to evaluate the integrity and remaining life of piping, pipelines, and mechanical components.
Recommend and optimize piping support strategies including rigid supports, springs, guides, anchors, and special supports.
Assess piping loads imposed on connected equipment and verify compliance with allowable nozzle load limits.
Support brownfield tie-ins, rerouting, and unit modifications with practical solutions that consider plant access, existing conditions, and shutdown constraints.
Prepare and review stress reports, support markups, nozzle load summaries, and special analysis documentation.
About you

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:
Minimum 7+ years of relevant piping stress analysis experience
Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognized (AICTE) university.
Strong working knowledge and practical application of applicable piping and repair codes, including ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8, ASME PCC 2.
Proficient in piping stress and FEA modeling using recognized software tools such as CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, ANSYS, Abaqus, or SolidWorks.
Good understanding of ASME B31.3, equipment nozzle load evaluation, thermal displacement management, and support engineering concepts.
Experience in brownfield/refinery project execution, including tie-ins, rerouting, and existing facility constraints.
Capable of effectively and proactively informing and engaging with customers and creating detailed engineering documents
