As a Senior Safety Professional, you will be an important resource. You will drive the identification, assessment, analysis, and solving of a broad spectrum of safety issues across a diverse group of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts businesses.
The Senior Safety Professional will report to a Safety Manager.
What You Will Do
On any given day, as a Senior Safety Professional, you might:
- Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously
- Drive the implementation of safety initiatives, performing job task analysis, analyzing injury and illness trend data, and finding opportunities to improve safety performance
- Lead and/or participate in incident investigations and follow-ups
- Improve performance, review source material (rules, codes, laws, and standards) identify and share industry practices
- Lead efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate risks while supporting standardized safety practices, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement
- Ensure implementation of applicable safety standards and established regulations
- Manage relationships and work as part of a team within a matrix environment with all levels of leadership and employees
- Engage and collaborate with local partners to drive and ensure consistency
- Participate in industrial hygiene monitoring and ergonomic assessments
- Deploy analytics and trends to improve safety
Required Qualifications & Skills
Here’s what you need to be successful at this job:
- 5+ years of project management experience within occupational safety, risk management, or a related environment
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards
- Experience with strategic thinking, prioritization, and initiation of tasks
- Experience with proper writing, speaking, and presenting to all levels
- Resolve conflicts and diffuse difficult situations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the entertainment and/or manufacturing industries
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Occupational Health or related field
Preferred Education
- Master’s Degree in related field
